2016 iPhone: Better security

iPhones are always considered high-end devices that cost a huge amount of money. Many people want to own iPhones, including the thieves. That’s why Apple has featured many tools to help the users track their phones in case those phones are lost or stolen. Functions like Find my iPhone work really well for the past few years. However, as iPhone price gets higher and higher, there are more and more people who want to steal these phones.

There are already many anti-thief apps that help prevent this. Whenever there’s someone trying to unlock the phone with wrong passwords, these apps take photos of that person and send those photos to the email of the owners. However, these apps are not 100% effective. If the thief has already covered their face, or they hide their identity from the front camera, these apps are useless.

Fortunately, Apple has just come up with a better security method for 2016 iPhone. According to the patent, this method will take picture of the thief, and at the same time it will save his or her fingerprint when he or she is trying to unlock the phone! Moreover, this function will record the sounds from the surrounding in order to detect where the phone is lost.

2016 iPhone: Will the new security method be available?

This tool in 2016 iPhone has an issue: privacy. In all the current smartphones with the fingerprint scanner, the user’s fingerprint ID is saved in the chipset only. But with this function, all user’s fingerprint ID will be sent to a server in the cloud for further investigation. And if this server is hacked, millions of ID will be exposed online, which leads to countless troubles! This patent is currently just …a patent. We still don’t know if it will be installed in 2016 iPhone or not. But if it will, Apple really have to establish a very secure server!
