AR (Augmented Reality) will be on iPhone 8 this year?

Business Insider had a UBS research before and found that Apple is believed to have more than 1000 engineers working on AR in Israel and may we could see the first AR of this company in iPhone 8. If it comes true, it would be the great innovation of Apple.

Will AR mark a new advance for Apple?

As we have known before, AR (or “Augmented Reality”) is the newest notion that most of the people have always mentioned for 2 years now, and Apple is not the exception in this technological development. According to analyst Steven Milunovich and his team at UBS, AR products on next iPhone 8 are expected to be Apple new implement. Tim Cook was believed to speak repeatedly “broken the silence on future products with regards to AR”. And Milunovich notes that Apple appears more interested in AR rather than virtual reality (VR).

Furthermore, to make sure again, the note also says “According to some industry sources, the company may have over 1,000 engineers working on a project in Israel that could be related to AR”. This report suggested that if Apple continues in developing in AR, there will be a new camera of iPhone 8 would be used for facial recognition. It will create ‘3D selfies’ which can be used as avatars in augmented reality games. How incredible!

In an interview with the Independent early this month, Cook compared AR to the iPhone. And they have also summarized more Cook’s recent comments about AR, such as Nothing AR is bigger than VR, Viewing AR like the silicon in an iPhone,… Moreover, they believe that iPhone 8 will come wit an IR module on front camera which could take pictures in 3D effect.
