CyanogenMod 14.1 will be available very soon!

One advantage of using Android devices is that, you will not be confined to a single UI. If you would like to make a change, there are a lot of options for you to choose from. Among them, CyanogenMod is an already established ROM, and it has always been updated in parallel with the Android OS version. Now, the developer of this custom ROM has announced that CyanogenMod 14.1 is going to be available for download very soon. This new version is special because it is based on the newest Android OS, Nougat 7.1. This will be the very first custom ROM to be based on the new Android 7.1 OS.

The announcement also included the list of devices that are eligible for this update. For this update, only 9 devices will be able to install this ROM. Those are he Nexus 5X and 6P, Xiaomi Mi3/Mi4, LG G3 and G4, Samsung Galaxy S5, OnePlus 3, ASUS Zenfone 2, and Moto G variants. The developer has assured us that more devices will be supported in future updates soon. Also, it is worth noting that since this is the first build, many features are not yet available, including Themes. More features will be added in upcoming releases as well.

Cyanogen’s co-founder, Steve Kondik, has said that users should not hastily file bugs as missing features, since this is still a work in progress. He also encouraged them to report as many bugs as possible, since his time, CyanogenMod is trying to return to its community-driven roots, and the developers would appreciate all kinds of involvement and feedback, as that would certainly help.
