Android phone: Dos and Don’ts

Your phone comes with a very powerful RAM and processor, however, after a period of time it is used, the phone is getting slower and slower. Have you ever been in this kind of situation? Here is few dos and don’ts for your Android phone.

Set up your lock screen pass-code: Well, this is the first thing that you should do with your smartphone. Stop people accessing to your phone by setting a little “lock-screen security”. Google Android offers you two options, you can set the PIN code or pattern. The PIN code is more secure, of course. The pattern is easier to remember for you, yes, and it is easier to remember for someone else too! So make sure that you set your phone is protected well. you can set it up by going to Settings, Security and then Screen lock.

Always back-up your phone: This is the thing that you might forget. Using your Google Account, any Android phone can back up the data to Google Drive. At moment, Google Drive offers you 15GB free of charge. Furthermore, there are plenty of Cloud Services such as OneDrive, DropBox which offer you a fair amount of free storage. To set this up, go to Settings and then Backup & reset. Turn on the backup setting and choose and account to create your backup.

Always research before downloading an app: There are thousand of apps on Google Play, unfortunately there are plenty of dangerous apps out there too. It might contain malware and you will never know that your information is stolen. So, before download the app, you should read carefully about the warning and only using the app from a verified or well-known developers.

Don’ts

Don’t need to close all the recent apps: Some thinks that keeping the recent used apps on Android phone means they are still running and it is using battery and causing your phone slow. However, you should not close some of most recently used apps as it is just shortcuts to reopen apps you have recently used.

Don’t bother with Facebook app: You know that Facebook and its brother, Messenger are still running even when you don’t use it?! The fact we can’t deny that the official apps are very useful and convenient but it is very power-hungry and reduce your battery life. Therefore, you should consider using a third-party replacement or the web version to keep up to date with friends.
