Recently, a new trailer for the brand new expansion to Final Fantasy 14 has been revealed. Titled Stormblood, this expansion is touted by the producer to have major changes to the game itself. Let’s take a look!

Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood to come in summer 2017!

In the Final Fantasy 14 Fen Fest convention recently, it is officially confirmed that the new 4.0 expansion of the game will be released in summer of 2017. Carrying the title Stormblood, this new expansion will have brand new contents from the already existing game, as described by producer Naoki Yoshida. Stormblood will be set in the city-state of Ala Mhigo, which is trying to be independent of the wrath of the Garlean Empire.

More information were also revealed. Stormblood will have new job additions, and new areas which is touted to be as big as those on the Heavensward expansion. The level cap is also increased from 60 to 70, and there will be new Primal boss fights. New dungeons and high-end raids were also reported. The battle system will undergo major changes as well: it will now group and categorize abilities shared by roles, compared to by jobs in the current system.

The inventory is likely to be revamped as well, although this will be more a gradual process. This will be rolled out soon, small changes and tweaks at a time, in order to ensure that the servers can maintain with the extra load of content. Yoshida also said that this expansion might be available to Windows 64-bit only, s Square has been trying to move away from the 32-bit environments.
