Galaxy S8: 1st Samsung smartphone with 4K display

Last month, we saw an advanced VR technology from Samsung. It’s a 5.5-inch 4K panel with a 3840 x 2160 resolution. And now it’s said that the Korea giant will apply this technology to its next smartphone –  Galaxy S8. If this is true, Galaxy S8 will be the first smartphone from Samsung to sport a 4K display. This next “S” generation phone is gonna be the Samsung flagship next year. The phone is expected to be launched in the early of 2017.

Every time Samsung releases its flagship, the resolutions of them keep increasing. For Galaxy S and Galaxy S2, the company came with VGA screen. With S3, the screen is a HD display. After that, with Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5, it went Full HD, and then Quad HD for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7. And now, for the next flagship, Samsung makes a big move with a 4K panel. Though this screen may be a little too much for normal uses, it’s appropriate for some kind of devices like Gear RV.

The device will run on the latest Android OS- Android N. S8 along with an at least 4,000mAh battery. For photography, Samsung might add a combo of a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing shooter.

Samsung is pushing everything to the limit in its smartphone, especially the display technology. But resolution is not the only one in this area. Recently, Samsung is reported to bring its foldable display smartphone to the market in the first quarter of 2017. So in this MWC 2017, the Korea company could bring the world its first 4K smartphone and first foldable phone. As far as the Galaxy S8 price is concerned, we expect that it will cost about $850.
