Today, Corning has introduced to the public their next product under the name Gorilla Glass 6. According to Corning, the new Gorilla Glass can protect your device from 15 drops from 1 meter onto rough surfaces. Moreover, they also offer two times better protection from the old Gorilla Glass 5. As for the scratch resistance, the new Glass remains the same as the previous generation – Gorilla Glass 5.

“As consumers become more dependent on their smartphones, the opportunity for potentially damaging drops is also on the rise. Now more than ever, it’s critical that the cover glass provides outstanding protection,” said John Bayne, Vice President and General Manager, Corning Gorilla Glass. “Corning Gorilla Glass 6 improves upon Gorilla Glass 5 by surviving drops from higher heights, but, more importantly, has been engineered to survive multiple drops.”

On the other hand, Corning also showcased some fantastic demos of the gadgets they to test Gorilla Glass. Notably, the experiment includes dropping or slapping dummy phones against 120- and 180-grit sandpaper “Nobody’s broken more phones or glass than Corning,” stated John Bayne, Gorilla Glass’s general manager. On the other hand, the company also announced Gorilla Glass DX and Corning Gorilla Glass DX+today. In details, these two are aiming at the wearable devices like smartwatches.
