Huawei Mate 8 to power Kirin 950 chip set with crazy Benchmark scores

Crowned as the best Chinese smartphone producers, Huawei is doing really well with their Kirin chipsets in powering higher-end smartphones. However, the Chinese King doesn’t seem to be stopping at where they are. The company is working on the next generation, the Kirin 950 to launch for their upcoming flagship Huawei Mate 8, expected to release later this November 2015.

Kirin 950 – rival to Exynos 8890

The Kirin 950 has been said to be the direct rival to Samsung’s Exynos 8890 used for Galaxy S7 and Snapdragon 820 rumored for Xiaomi Mi5. It is also believed to be more powerful than Apple A9 on iPhone 6S.

When we take a closer look at the Kirin 950, it seem that rumors are not exaggerating much. The latest chipset made by Huawei is actually quite impressive. Huawei have used the 16nm FinFET process to produce the Kirin 950 in order to utilize flip transitors. The Chinese King also promises a 40% increase in performance and 60% decrease in power usage. Wow!

In terms of technical figures, the Kirin 950 is an octa-core CPU, using high-power Cortex-A72 cores with the speed of 2.53 GHz. This helps provide the harmony between powerful performance and reasonable battery consumption. The Kirin 950 also features a small i5 co-processor. Compared to the previous generation i3 core, the i5 helps your smartphones stay strong and smooth all the time.

Although its a bit early for us to know about the Kirin 950 performance figures, their company did reveal the chip set’s AnTuTu points as a teaser before release. According to that, Kirin 950 scored almost 83 000 points on the famous Chinese benchmark. The result is so good it can easily impress any user. If everything goes right, we will have the Huawei Mate 8 flagship smartphone launched soon. With what we know so far about the Kirin 950 chip set, it is absolutely expected that the Mate 8 by Huawei will be a powerful handset.
