iPhone 6s shutdown: Apple offers free battery change!

After the not-so-smooth dealing with the “Touch” issues of the iPhone 6 Plus, now Apple will have to deal with one more problem. Some of the following generation phones, the iPhone 6s, have been reported to have shut down unexpectedly. They won’t turn on even if there are still battery left, and can only be opened during charge. There were quite a few complaints that Apple needed to investigate. However, after the investigation, Apple has concluded that the problem is not serious to users.

Apple has stated that the problem only occurred on a limited number of iPhone 6s, which were manufactured between September and December 2015. Every other phones produced after this date is not affected. As for owners of the affected phones, Apple has offered  solution. As the company said, the main problem is the battery, so users are eligible for battery replacement. Of course, your phone has to be an iPhone 6s, and was produced between September-October 2015.

The procedure is also simple, you just need to contact Apple’s customer service, or go straight to an Apple retail store to check for eligibility of the program. Then you will have your battery replaced. Remember, you should back up your data to iTunes or iCloud before getting the replacement. Depending on your region, there will be some restrictions applied. Last but not least, if you already paid for a replacement battery from Apple and still have the iPhone 6s shutdown issue, you can ask for a refund.

iPhone 6s shutdown: Timely action by Apple

The way Apple dealt with this incident is very good. Phone safety has become an apparent concern for users, especially after all the explosions recently, starting with Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Hopefully, Apple, and every other brands as well, will not have to deal with these incidents anymore.
