Apparently, Link (the players) and Princess Zelda – also a recurring heroine of the series – failed in a crucial battle 100 years ago against the game’ antagonist, Ganon. There are more to the story, but it’s best to discover yourself!

That leads us to the next part, exploration. The game is a massive open world, waiting to be explored. Every scene you see in itself is a place for discovery and exploration. Plus, you are not restricted where you go at any point of time. You can go straight to the final boss of the story right at the start – Ganon at the Hyrule Castle – if you wish to do so. The size of the world may be intimidating, but each region varied enough to make it interesting for players, as well as the types of enemies in it.

Last but not least, the gameplay is very realistic. There are only two outcomes when fighting enemies of the wild: death, which comes very often, and rewards befitting victory. In a fight, a number of events could happen: your main weapon could break (and it often does), as well as your shield or bow. You must react quickly by snatching weapons of the fallen foes to continue fighting. Each fight is a whole new experience, and often comes with new equipment.
