Introducing Philips S358 for selfie lovers with 8MP front cam at PHP 6,3K?

2 days ago, on August 3rd, 2015, Philips smartphone celebrated their first anniversary working with Smartphone, an online distributor in Vietnam market. With the occasion, the company launched their latest smartphone featured especially for taking selfie with a budget price: Philips S358

Mr. Eric Benedetti, Chairman of Philips Vietnam announced the company’s business situation and sales reports in the local market for the past year. According to that, Philips is now holding a stable share of around 1-2% in the highly competitive smartphone market of Vietnam.

At the event, Philips introduce an upcoming “selfie device” which will be sold first in Vietnam soon for VND 2,999,000. If the Philips S358 comes to our market one day, it will be priced at around PHP 6,3K. Pretty much similar to our market in the Philippines, the low-end smartphone market share in Vietnam is developing very quickly and considerably. The Philips S358 is made to directly compete with other budget flagships like Huawei Honor 4C, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime or Lenovo A7000.

Philips S358 cameras: truly selfie flagship

The key selling points of this handset are of course the selfie sensors. Philips S358 front camera comes with wide angle lens, and high resolution of 8MP. The front shooter also features Face Beauty filter and HDR mode that capture the best selfie even under low light condition. To make it even better, with 84,7 degree wide angle, users can take selfie of a big crowd at the same time.

Philips S358 main camera is packed with many cool functions: Multi-Angle View that allows taking one object continuously from different angles to create a 3D picture. Panorama which is quite familiar to many users. Motion track that takes the best out of moving object. And Live Photo that record the process of taking a picture.

In terms of Philips S358 specs, the device runs Andorid 5.1 with new and simple UI from Philips.
