Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Plus: First Samsung to power MediaTek

Recently, a new Samsung phone – Galaxy Grand Prime + has been spotted on Antutu platform. Surprisingly, this phone could be powered by MediaTek chipset.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime + : the first Samsung device with MediaTek chip

Previously, this phone was leaked with the other name – Galaxy Grand Prime 2016. It is the successor of the old Galaxy Grand Prime launched in 2014. At that time, Galaxy Grand Prime 2016 was also reported to come with a 1.4Ghz quad-core MediaTek MT 6737T chipset. Besides, there could be a 1.5GB RAM along with 8GB storage on this phone. Galaxy Grand Prime 2016 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Now, Galaxy Grand Prime 2016 comes with a new name – Galaxy Grand Prime +. Most importantly, with a new name, this phone is unveiled with clearer and stronger specs. Accordingly, it will sport a 5.0-inch screen with 540×960 pixels resolution. The phone will feature a bigger 2GB RAM. Along with it is a larger storage of 32GB. You’ll also find an 8MP camera on the rear and 5MP selfie shooter on this phone. Galaxy Grand Prime + will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box.

Especially, on Antutu, the new Galaxy phone was leaked with MediaTek MT 6753T chipset sitting on quad-core CPU. Along with it is a Mali-T720 GPU GPU. That information makes many users surprised because this is the first time Samsung equipped its smartphone with MediaTek chipset. Hopefully, with the combination of MediaTek chipset and the other assets from Samsung brand, this phone will bring the success for the Korea giant.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime + : Price and release date speculation
