A research by Similar Web – a digital analytics company- has shown that WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in the world. To be more specific, this service is used in 109 of the total 187 countries surveyed. So what are the reasons behind?

WhatsApp: A global brand

The first reason why WhatsApp is the most downloaded Android messaging application is that the name WhatsApp has become a global brand. Even in some countries where this messaging app is not popularly used, people still know about it. In order to gain this achievement, the company have been working really hard in advertising the app. And then because of its great quality, the users recommend this app for their friends and family members.

The second reason behind the no.1 position of WhatsApp is that people tend to use the apps that already have big user base. When you try a new social media app, I’m sure you don’t want to play it alone. With this messaging application, you don’t have to invite your friends and family members to join you, because most of them are already there.
