The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 launch is official. This statement comes from Xiaomi themselves. The Mi Max line has amassed quite the reputation with the first device. Let’s see if the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 launch brings something special.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 specs: 6GB RAM

The first impression is that Xiaomi may be hinting at an infinite display design. If this holds true, it could be huge for Xiaomi. Currently, Curve screen and infinite display are the names of the game for 2017. Because the first Mi of the Mix line was such a big hit, we speculate that the Mi Mix 2 design, albeit has a larger screen, will not deviate much from its predecessor. The bottom chin that holds the front camera is also likely to make a comeback. But we only know for sure until the press conference.

About hardware, we are confident that it is going to be an upgrade of the Mi Mix. According to the leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 RAM measures 8GB. However, we think that there will also be two other option that features 4GB and 6GB RAM. The display will be a 6.44-inches screen that renders at 1440 x 2560 pixels (QUAD HD). Powering this beast of a phone is a 4500 mAh non-removable battery cell and the Android Nougat 7.1.1 Nougat. We also expect an update to Android Oreo OS at some point after the launch.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 camera is also very impressive. The rear cam features dual 16MP sensors that have touch focus, autofocus, HDR, etc. For the front cam, not much is known except that it is a 13MP sensor. You may think that these are conventional camera specs by now, but we don’t know about the software yet. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a dedicated app to control and config the camera to its fullest potential. Therefore, it is possible that Xiaomi will cook up something similar for the Mi Mix 2.
