Apple iPhone X Might Be Discontinued This Summer

Last year, together with Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, Apple also launched Apple iPhone X to celebrate 10 years since their first launch in 2007. The iPhone X comes with a significant change in design from the iPhone 6 in 2014. First, this Apple iPhone X offers a nearly bezel-less design with a notch on the top of the screen. Furthermore, FaceID also brings a revolution in the smartphone security system. However, according to a KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this iPhone might stop being produced in the summer of this year.

The reason for this cancellation of Apple iPhone X is the disappointing sales of Apple, especially in China. In the Chinese market, the big and bezel-less screen is a trend. However, as for the customers, the “notch” appearance of this iPhone is a waste of usable space. Therefore, the design of this iPhone is not attractive to them. Moreover, the analyst claims that Apple might see a modest 5% growth in the first half of 2018. On the other hand, at the end of this year, this giant manufacture has a high chance of replacing the iPhone X by 3 new iPhones.

These new iPhones are going to be the second generation of iPhone X with 5.8-inch screen size, 6.5-inch display for the Plus variants and a “$650-750” 6.1-inch iPhone SE. Furthermore, upcoming Apple iPhones is likely to sport the similar Face ID notch. Previously, in 2014, Apple also discontinued their iPhone 5C.

Upcoming Apple iPhone X variants release date and price

At the moment, there is no official information of Apple from the 3 new iPhones yet. We expect the upcoming iPhone of Apple might come in the last quarter of 2018. For the cost, these phones price falls around $1,100 ~ Rs.70,062. On the other hand, the iPhone SE coming this year might cost only around $700 ~ Rs.44,585.
