ASUS ROG launched in the US

According to our legit source, Asus took the wraps off its ROG Phone at Computex in June. In details, the ROG Phone is the latest in a string of gaming-oriented smartphones. Besides, Ian had written up a hands-on article showcasing the various intriguing aspects of the Asus phone. Otherwise, the logo at the back has RGB illumination, and the rear of the phone is made out of Gorilla Glass.

As far as we learned, ASUS ROG specs include a 6-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms pixel response time. Furthermore, the display comes with 1080×2160 resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Moreover, the screen covers 108.6% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. Whereas, the ROG Phone has a unique ROG gaming UI customised skin on top of Android Oreo 8.1.

Under the hood, the handset works with an especially speed binned Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. On the other side, the Asus phone provides 8GB of RAM and UFS 2.1 storage up to 128GB/ 512GB. However, the onboard memory is unexpandable, unfortunately. How about the photography system? As for the Asus ROG camera, the handset sports dual 12MP+8MP rear snappers. Moreover, the Asus device features an 8MP selfie shooter on the front with an aperture of f/2.0. Also, the newly launched smartphone packs a non-removable 4000mAh juice box with fast battery charging support.

ASUS ROG release date and price

The ROG Phone will be available for pre-order on October 18th after launching in New York at Microsoft’s Flagship store on 5th Avenue. Besides, the Asus ROG price is $899 and $1099 for the 128 and 512GB versions respectively. Moreover, the ROG Mobile Desktop Dock costs $229.99 while the ROG TwinView Dock is priced at $399.99. Whereas, the ROG Gamevice Controller will go for $89.99, and the ROG WiGig Dock sets back $329.99. Lastly, the ROG Professional Dock is $119.99, and the ROG Phone Case is going to cost $59.99.
