Memory is expanding up to 256GB (dedicated slot). The smartphone sports a 20MP front camera with a f/2.0 aperture, and on the rear, it sports 16MP camera with dual-LED flash and a f/1.8 aperture. Oppo F5 runs Color OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), and comes with a battery of 3200 mAH. It’s a very attractive phone, it has a large immersive screen, the cameras are both competent in multiple conditions, battery life is strong, and the best one, the F5 comes at the price of $400.

4. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

Xiaomi has been always a favourite in the budget segment and this time appears on our list as the most affordable 6GB RAM phone. Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 5.99-inch bezel-less (18:9) display which looks beautiful. The infinity full-HD+ display has a resolution of (1080 x 2160) pixels and (403 ppi density). This is the first phone to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 mobile platform and the phone is available with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, although the storage remains the same at 64GB in both variants, (expandable up to 256GB). On the Camera side, the phone comes with a dual rear camera with a Sony 12MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a Samsung 5MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. On the front side, we have 20MP and f/2.0 aperture while the battery is 4000 mAH. The conclusion is, at a starting price of $250 this phone is pretty hard to beat.

5. ZTE Axon 7s

Next, ZTE Axon 7s will continue our list of best smartphones with 6GB of RAM for the month of April as well. The ZTE Axon 7s is powered by a Qualcomm (MSM8996) Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB. Asus has put a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080) resolution AMOLED full-HD display on the ZenFone 4 Pro, which gives it a pixel density of (401 ppi) and it is covered in Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. It rocks a Qualcomm (MSM8998) Snapdragon 835 and it comes with 6GB of RAM. The phone packs 64GB or 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. For camera optics, there’s a dual-camera setup on the back. There’s a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, and then a 16MP secondary, telephoto lens. The front-facing camera here is an 8MP sensor with a f/2.2 aperture. The phone is powered by a 3600 mAH battery along with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) running out of the box. The ZenFone 4 Pro is a pretty impressive smartphone from Asus and comes at a price of $660.

7. Vivo X21

Last but not least, let’s meet a quite new Vivo X21. It sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB inbuilt storage options, (expandable up to 256GB). In terms of camera specifications, the X21 bears a vertical rear dual camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor (f/1.8 aperture) and a 5MP secondary sensor while on the front has 12MP camera. There is a 3200 mAH battery, with fast charging support. It also supports Face Detection and high dynamic range(HDR) imaging. The Vivo X21 runs FunTouch OS 4.0 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) out-of-the-box and comes at a price of $560.

Previous, many Android users have complained about receiving a strange notification on their handset. Furthermore, the message also blocks them from using all of their Google Services. Notably, the issue happens on the handsets that people bought from unlocked bootloaders. Moreover, those Android users who are using a custom ROM also face the same problem on their handset.

Today, Google has finally confirmed to Android Police with their official statement sharing their insight on the situation. Google stated that “Certified Android devices offer users consistent experiences when using apps from Google and the Play Store [… as well as Google Play Protect]. We acknowledge that some manufacturers are building and selling devices that have not been certified by Google.”

Based on the announcement, Google is going to stop supporting the non-certified devices from using Google Apps. It means that the users won’t be able to sign into the Google Services. The most significant reason for such issue comes from the manufacturer. To reduce the cost and save the certification process, they usually don’t follow Google’s hardware guidelines or certifying their devices. Furthermore, they also managed to cut the production cost by making low-quality handsets.

What should un-authorised Android users do?

If you are not using a certified device from Google, you might face many disadvantages. However, there is still a way for you to keep using the Google Services on your handset. To continue using your handset, you would need to acknowledge that your device isn’t certified. After that, Google is going to let you exempt your device by submitting a request with an IMEI number; or the Google Services Framework ID from your phone. Remember, Google only allows 100 exemptions per Google account. As a result, it’s possible that by resetting a custom or unofficial ROM, it can count against your 100 permitted exceptions.
