Next on the list of HTC smartphones is HTC U Ultra. The U Ultra comes with a 5.7 inch Super LCD5 QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels (513 ppi) and is protected by the new Corning 5 Gorilla Glass protection. The phone has one more screen, 2-inch strip that sits at the top right edge of the phone, next to the camera. According to our sources, Google has confirmed that the first smartphones running Android Oreo (Go edition) will become official at MWC next week. However, the company hasn’t named any of the upcoming products, but some of them will sell for less than $50. Regarding the OS, Android Oreo (Go edition) is the cheap version of Android Oreo 8.0 (specially optimized for low-end hardware).
The OS should optimize default apps and provide an optimized variant of the Play Store for lightweight apps. Moreover, Google claims to offer 15% faster app performance on handsets with entry-level specs. Meanwhile, there includes twice the free storage while built-in apps take up to 50% less space. So far, the handsets will have 1GB RAM or less, and 8GB ROM while remains “a high-quality experience”. Also, there is a greater focus on saving mobile data.
