According to a report in June and July, Apple has been overtaken by the giant Chinese brand Huawei as the world’s second-biggest smartphone maker by sales. This firm sends Apple into third place for the first time. After Huawei surpasses Apple, this brand is now only behind Samsung in sales. How can they make such improvement? According to a consulting firm, the Huawei company has jumped significantly in sales and brand recognition, primarily because of strong research and development investment, and creative marketing campaigns.

The growth of this Chinese brand is so impressive that no player in the smartphone industry should ignore. On the other hand, Huawei is not so popular in the South Asian, Indian and North American markets. This limits the potential prospect of Huawei to keep the second place position behind Samsung in the long run. At the moment, Huawei overly depends on its home market China, Europe, Latin America and has no phones in the top 10 ranking. Smartphone users can find Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC on many flagship phones of 2017. This 835 is already an amazingly fast chipset. Recently, Snapdragon has begun working on its successor Snapdragon 845. Here are what we can expect in this SND 845. With the Snapdragon 845, this chipset is built on the 7nm FinFET process. The chip will feature four ARM Cortex-A75 cores and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores. Moreover, it will be pair with the Adreno 630 GPU to increase graphical performance.

On top of this, we expect the Snapdragon 845 to feature the X20 connectivity modem, which is expected to increase the downlink speeds to 1.2Gbps. The recent report states that moving to 7nm means the performance of the phone gains more than 25-35 percent. The smaller chip also means a smaller size which allows devices like smartphones be smaller, or at least make room for things like a bigger battery.

What’s worth mentioning is that Samsung, which manufactures the Snapdragon 835 chip alongside its own 10nm Exynos chip. Firstly, they have just announced that their phone will soon be ready get a more efficient 7nm chip, which could suggest that the Samsung  Galaxy S9 will ship with such chips inside. Soon, we may find out exactly what kind of mobile beast will ship with the Snapdragon 845. Once that happens, we’ll probably see Samsung come out with its own Snapdragon 845 equivalent chipset. Additionally, this chipset will power next year’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9.

Previously, HMD Global has launched the Nokia 7 in the Chinese market. With the overwhelming response from the community, many fans are waiting for Nokia 7’s globally launch. But we have bad news for you! In a recent interview, Pekka Rantala, Chief Marketing Officer, HMD Global, set the record straight “Nokia 7 is designed for Chinese consumers, so currently we’ve no plans to bring it to India”.

Furthermore, he went on and explained the reason behind. According to Pekka, not all of Nokia phones are for the global audience. Thus, this might be the main reason why HMD Global has no plans to launch Nokia 7 in the Indian market. On the other hand, Nokia 8, Nokia’s latest flagship phone, didn’t make it to the US and China regions. On the contrary, India was one of the first international markets to behold the launch of Nokia 8.

Android Oreo is coming to Nokia 5 and Nokia 6

Just last week, HMD Global has begun the Android Oreo 8.0 updating on various premium handsets for many brands. Previously, HMD Global has promised to bring Oreo update to all the Nokia phones. The Finnish start-up stated that the Android Oreo update is now available as an Over-the-air programming for Nokia 8. Additionally, HMD Global said that the Nokia 8 users would likely get the update in a phased manner. HMD Global notes, “You will receive a notification on your smartphone when it becomes available in your country.”

Furthermore, after upgrading the Nokia 8, HMD Global is now ready to bring Android Oreo to two other Nokia phones: Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. The Chief Product Officer of HMD Global – Juho Sarvikas confirmed this good news last Friday through a user query on Twitter. During this section, Sarvikas noted: “Yes, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 next. Just reviewed today, we will open Beta Labs for those models soon.” However, HMD Global now hasn’t revealed any further details on when the stable build of Oreo will be available for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 users.

Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 users may official receive the software update by the end of this year. HMD Global General Manager for Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia regions Mark Trundle also announced that Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 would also get Oreo update by the end of 2017. Not only that, various sources also implie that, apart from Android Oreo update, HMD Global will probably introduce the next software version – Android P to all the Nokia Android phones shortly.
