Apple is investigating a rose gold iPhone 7 Plus which exploded after nightly charging. A video of the smoking iPhone 7 Plus has spread rapidly on Twitter, it was clicked over a million times. A few days before the explosion, the 18-year-old owner of the rose gold iPhone 7 Plus went to an Apple Store to report a problem with her device, it could not be turned on. However, after performed tests, no error was found.

The smartphone seemed to work properly until the next morning. The chassis was broken and there was also a whistling sound and smoke. As the owner, Brianna Olivas says, the phone was charging next to her bed and her friend noticed the happenings first. Afterwards he grabbed that bursting phone and went with the device to the bathroom. More smoke came out of phone and it even exploded.

“We are in touch with the customer and looking into it,” an Apple representative told the Web site Mashable. Brianna Olivas, the owner of the damaged iPhone 7 Plus in rose gold, handed over the device to the manufacturer. Company’s representatives explained that they want to carry out tests and expect to be able to say more within a week.
