According to the source, Mi 6 will come with 2 versions: a flat display model and a dual curved edge one. This phone will be equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset- SND 835 paired with 4GB RAM (flat)/6GB RAM (dual curved). It will be backed up with a huge 4000mAh battery capacity supported with Quick Charge 4.0 technology. These versions won’t sport any dual camera on the back like the previous leaks.

This new handset from Xiaomi was also leaked on Weibo with an image. This picture showed the scores of the phone on the Antutu benchmark – 210329. If you remember, the current Antutu King -iPhone 7 Plus- has 163578 scores. So, this means that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 is a huge beast.

This product is called Cerevo Taclim, and it involves a pair of shoes an gloves with haptic feedback. You will be able to feel the ground you are walking on in-game, and get a feel of what you are touching!

Cerevo, the firm behind this innovative product, shared that players can essentially wear the shoes of the character in-game. The Taclim device also works as a means to control the virtual character. Players will now be able to feel the grass, the land, the water or the sand beneath their feet. Also, and more specially, they will be able to kick anything. When you’re playing games, especially VR games, you would probably at times feel the urge to kick something. Now you will be able to do so. Not only objects, but also enemies as well, and you will feel their soft bodies, or the hardness of their shields/armors!

However, something to note is that so far, add-ons for VR apps usually are not that successful. They will need a lot of software support. For now, the Taclim is only compatible with Google VR, and there are not a lot of applications there. However, Cerevo plans to extend the compatibility to other devices as well, such as Occulus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR. We will have to wait and see if this product is viable in the future.

VR shoes: Is it necessary?

We have seen so far a lot of both great and weird devices at CES 2017. This week, Changhong, a Chinese company, just introduced a phone, Changhong H2, with a sensor that’s able to optically scan objects and tell you what they’re made of.

How it works?

The technology that we will talk about is near-infrared spectroscopy. What is it? It is a technique that shines a light on an object and analyses how that light changes as a result. Therefore, it can figure out how things are made of on a molecular level. At first, it sounds all sort of crazy advance. but actually we already use similar technology on phones today, for example Samsung Galaxy. You not only can use the light to track the heart rates, but also measure blood oxygen content.

So, what is new? The Changhong H2 steps further than what we have seen. The phone can tell you what things are made of. Not finished. Imagine you go to the super market, the phone can help you scan the food and gain useful information about the ingredients, nutrition and evaluate the level of calorie that you will obtain. It will be helpful for diabetic control their level of blood sugar. And just like the optical heart-rate scanner on existing phones, a spectrometer can tell you about your own body. It means that you can keep an eye on your body fat levels while you work your way through an exercise regimen.

Unfortunately, the potential of this technology is just limited by the imagination of developers. In fact, what we got to see at Changhong’s CES booth, the apps can be used to tell genuine materials apart from fakes, e.g, distinguishes prescription medications from counterfeits. It still takes time for developers to develop apps which can do more than that.

Apparently, HMD Global, the one in charge of this Nokia comeback, has passed certificaiton last week. That means we now know a bit more about this device. Fitting with earlier speculations, The Nokia E1 will indeed be an entry Android smartphone, whose price will be on the low-end.

Since Friday, there have been reports of the leaked Nokia E1 specs. The new Nokia device will be have a Snapdragon 425 chipset, with quad-core 1.4GHz CPU and Adreno 308 CPU under the hood. Accompanying that will be 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage available. It is not yet confirmed that the storage will be expandable via microSD card or not, but with just 16GB of ROM, it is highly likely that we will be able to expand the storage further.

There are also some other notable Nokia E1 specs. The phone will sport a 5.2 or 5.3″ screen, with 720p (HD) display. There will be a 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front shooter for selfies and video calls. Also, this new phone is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. This is one huge highlight, because the price of this Nokia phone is supposedly on the low side. We will have to wait for further confirmation from HMD Global and Nokia themselves.
