2016 is almost coming to an end, and we are all looking forward to 2017. For the smartphone market, there are much to look forward to next year. Here are some of the most awaited smartphones in 2017!

1. Oppo Find 9

Oppo has been growing very fast in recent times, especially in Asia. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has been innovating their products, making many of their products have a distinctive feel to them. One of the best features of Oppo phones is the camera, especially selfies. Oppo phones are proud of their selfies technology, guaranteeing to give you the best selfies in the market. Quite a long time after launching the flagship Oppo Find 7, Oppo finally hinted at the existence of the successor, the Oppo Find 9.

Initially, the Find was reported to sport the Snapdragon 821 chipset. However, later it was speculated that the phone will house a SD835 chipset, the newest and most powerful chipset of Qualcomm in the market. It is understandable, since the Find 9 would be a flagship. The phone would also have 6GB of RAM, and a QHD touchscreen, with Gorilla Glass 5. Other Oppo Find 9 specs is still unknown. Oppo find 9 release date is suppose to be in the latter half of next year. Still, it is one of the most awaited smartphones in 2017.

2. Samsung Galaxy S8

After the incidents with Note 7, Samsung is putting their hopes on the Galaxy S8 to bring the company back again. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 835 chipset, that much is a given. There may also be another version with Exynos chipset, like previous phones. The phone is reported to come with a 6GB RAM, with up to 256GB internal storage. It is expected to also sport dual camera at the rear. There would also be iris scanner like Note 7, and the phone would also be at least IP68 certified. Samsung Galaxy S8 release date is expected to be early 2017.

3. Lenovo Zuk Edge

Next on the list of most awaited Android smartphones in 2017, we have Lenovo Zuk Edge. Lenovo Zuk Edge specs include Snapdragon 821 SoC. The phone would also have 6GB of RAM, and 64 to 128GB of internal storage. It will come with a 13MP rear and 8MP front shooter. The screen is reported to have Full HD display, and it will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. This one the high-end version of Lenovo brand, so it will undoubtedly be among the most awaited smartphones in 2017.

4. Nokia D1C

Nokia has confirmed their comeback to the smartphone market in 2017 with the speculated Nokia D1C. After such a long time away, it is understandable that this would be among the most awaited smartphones in 2017. According to leaks from Antutu and Geekbench, the phone would be powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset, along with 3GB of RAM. There will be 32GB of internal storage. The phone will sport a combo of 13MP/MP rear and front camera. It will run Android 7.1 out of the box. The release date is still unknown, but as it is confirmed for next year, we will hear more about the phone soon!

5. Microsoft Surface Phone

Microsoft has stated that they will not leave the smartphone market, and they are making a Surface Phone. This phone is reported to run the newest Snapdragon 835 chipset, along with two versions of RAM: 4GB and 6GB. The phone will have screen of about 5.5″, with Quad HD display. The Surface Phone release date is slated to be in late 2017, and it will run the newest Redstone 3 update of the Windows 10 Mobile OS. This is also quite a phone among the most awaited smartphones in 2017.

iPhone 9: an innovation or a retro of an old kind of phones

Back to September, Apple has released its two flagships of 2016 which are iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The two smartphones are successors as they are well-received by many users all around the world. Recently, there are more and more alleged information about the iPhone 8 that would be released in 2018. In earlier posts, we already provided you leaked information of iPhone 8. As 2017 is the 10th years anniversary since the first iPhone was put on sale. We can expect that Apple will make its fans surprised and happy with new products.

While the real iPhone 8 is still not showed up yet , foreign media reported that Apple has just received patent for a new smartphone. It is skeptical that the phone can be iPhone 9. Interestingly, it is also said that it would be a flip phone. In addition, according to the patent, the body of this mysterious “iPhone 9” would be made out of nickel-titanium alloy which in turn create a rigid and durable material.

There are a lot of assumptions around the “flip” functionality of the phone.  There is one simple assumption that the phone might look quite similar to that clamshell phone. Another assumption is that the phone can be folded to half size of the original display. According to analyst Sun Changxu, it is high possibility that rather than a clamshell, the phone could mount a flexible display with OLED panel.

Galaxy C7 Pro spotted: 4GB RAM, SND 626

China is  one of the biggest smartphone markets. That’s the reason why Samsung spends a whole series for this market- Galaxy C lineup. The 2 first devices of this series are Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. After that, to keep up with the demand of Chinese customers, this Korean giant made Galaxy C9 Pro with a huge amount of RAM- 6GB. Now, it seems that the company is about to bring two new phones to this market- Galaxy C7 Pro and C5 Pro.

These two new devices are the successors of Galaxy C5 and C7 in May. Galaxy C7 Pro has just been spotted on Geekbench with the code name of SM-C7010. On this benchmark, this phone gets the single -core score of 1000 and 5679 points for multi-core score. Under the hood, the phone will be powered by a 2.21Ghz octa-core SND 626 processor. Along with SND 653 and SND 427, this SoC is one of the three new SND chipsets.

Galaxy C7 Pro will come with 4GB RAM and will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. Like the predecessor, it will feature a 5.7-inch screen with the resolution of 1080 x 1920 px. The other Galaxy C7 Pro specs are unknown. However, they are expected to be as strong as Galaxy C7, or even stronger and better.

Coming with 4GB RAM, this phone will be the tough rival in the market. Coming with bezel-less full screen display and strong specs, this new ZTE Nubia phone will be one of the best devices in the market. However, the company decided not to name this new variant specifically. The upgraded model comes with different memory, inbuilt storage compared to the standard version.

While the ZTE Axon 7 standard model features a 64GB of ROM and 4GB of RAM, the upgraded variant offers better version which is 6GB of memory and 128GB of internal storage. Likewise the standard model, the inbuilt storage of the 6GB RAM variant can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. This ZTE Axon 7 mounts a 5.5-inch display that has the resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. In terms of processor, the ZTE Axon 7 upgraded model is packed with Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset and Quad-core CPU. Moreover, it also runs Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) out of the box.

This new ZTE Axon 7 variant sports a 20MP main camera paired with an 8MP selfie snapper. In order to keep the light on, the handset exploits its power from a 3250 mAh battery that is supported by Fast battery charging: 83% in 30 min (Quick Charge 3.0). Other ZTE Axon 7 upgraded model features include HiFi audio and pressure sensitivity of the screen.

However, there is certainly some concerns from players: not all the familiar Mass Effect species and races will appear in the new game! However, creative director of the game, Mac Walters has assured fans that they will surely return in future installments of the Mass Effect franchise! The studio has created the IP in such a way that it will show up, just not in this game for some obvious reasons, Walters shared.

One notable Milky Way race that is suspected to be playing a great part in Andromeda is the Krogan, despite not having a proper ride. A Krogan squaddie called Drack was presented in a poll a Redditor claimed he had voted in, before the reveal of Mass Effect Andromeda. Also, the Krogan was clearly visible in the trailer of the game from E3 2015.

If we think about it carefully, the absence of other non-Ark races such as Turian, Asari, and most notably human from Andromeda is kind of obvious, and should be expected. After all, this new game takes place in a new galaxy, and developers wouldn’t just plug and play what is already presented in the old galaxy. If we were to put in familiar Mass Effect species and races, like Hanar, Volus, etc. it would take away BioWare’s intention of starting a new setting. Of course, they have decided this chance to expand on the Krogan, because the race is popular enough, and it makes sense to touch more on the race here!

The phone will run on Windows 10 Mobile, obviously, and it will be 64-bit.

According to this report, there seems to be two versions of the new Surface Phone. One will be equipped with 6GB RAM, nd this version will be able to run 86 apps in Continuum mode. However, this one cannot run x86 apps by default, and can only install them. Once it is connected via Continuum, then it will be able to run x86 apps. The other version will have 4GB RAM, which will still run Snapdragon 835. This one, while also has Windows 10 Mobile OS, will not be able to run x86 apps. One can speculate that one version will be for consumers, while the other for businesses. From observation, both versions seem to sport 5.5″ QHD screen.

The new Surface Phone is supposed to run on the updated Redstone 3 version of Windows 10. Redstone 3 has been reported to be even bigger than the huge Redstone 2 update. For Redstone 3, developers are prioritizing on the Mobile OS more. Because of that, the release date of the phone will be pushed back to late 2017, for the update to be implemented. Once released, the new Surface Phone will have Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 out of the box.

After a long time of seemingly absence, Hello Games, the developer of No Man’s Sky, has finally broken the silence. This time, it is to announce that a new update for the game is coming. It will be called the “Foundation update”. It is named so because this update will include the addition of “the foundations of base building”, as the studio said. This update will also serve to make a foundation in place for the upcoming new things to come.

The game No Man’s Sky has been the result of five years of intense development. Right after the release of the game, the development team spent six weeks straight updating the game, with seven patches across platforms. The last patch was on September 24. Since then, the studio shared that they have spent the next nine weeks developing, testing and certifying the coming Foundation update.
