The best shooter games of all time
First person shooter (FPS) game is a widely popular genre around the world. From the start, there are no shortages of great games in this genre. Today, we will have a look at our list of best shooter games of all time!

1. Counter Strike 1.6
Counter Strike 1.6 has been, and more than likely to be the staple for shooter games. Even after 17 years, this game still hold its ground as one of the best shooter games of all time. It first started as a mod or the Half-life engine. The graphics is great for its time. However, there are more than graphics to capture players’ hearts around the world.
The game is hailed as having the best balance in any categories. Incredible weapons mechanics, plus the precise movements and strategies are what makes the game good. There are also the fact that this game truly tests gamers’ skills. It has been and will be the gold standard for any other FPS games. To fully grasp this this is to grasp the essence of FPS games. It’s not about classes, perks, etc. It’s all about skills, strategy and teamwork. This game is a legend in its genre, so much even after 17 years, it doesn’t need to evolve in any way!

2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
The Call of Duty series has been the most successful FPS franchise in gaming history, and there are legit reasons for that. Especially lauded is Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Like the name suggests, the game’s theme revolves around war in a modern settings, unlike the usual World War settings in previous games. The real deal is the multiplayer mode: there has been groundbreaking mechanics and innovations (yes, a Call of Duty was called that!) in perks and support system, which gives player a whole new experience. Plus the graphics was immense when it was released too!

3. Team Fortress 2
Continuing on the smashing success of the first iteration, Team Fortress 2 redefined the conception of competitive team multiplayer games. No longer is it about the deathmatches (although they are still there, and still fun), now there are different objectives to achieve, and each team must work together to achieve those missions. There are also 9 classes to choose from, each with strengths and weaknesses, and the team who utilizes and combines these classes together will of course has more chance of winning.

4. Left for Dead 2
Another game with the “2” in the name, Team Fortress 2 is another case of a subsequent installment doing better than the predecessor. The first Left for Dead was great, and was critically acclaimed. However, the second iteration managed to improve on almost every aspect. Melee weapon was added, each environment then had its own specific infected species among the regular ones, and the gore just went up a notch. Teams are now forced to work together even harder than before in the face of much stronger monsters, or they will literally be “left for dead”.

5. Overwatch
Yes, you’re not seeing it wrong. Overwatch, contrary to popular beliefs, is not a MOBA game. It is a FPS co-op multiplayer game. Although this game is the youngest in the list, it still hold its ground as one of the most successful. Big roster of heroes, fun and challenging mechanics, continuous support from Blizzard, and most of all a big community, everything is going right for the Blizzard game. The high price does not deter gamers from enjoying this game, it’s how infectious it is!

5 best shooter games of all time
Above are, in our opinion, the 5 best shooter games of all time. All of them offers different experience, and were game-changing at their time of release. Which game is your favorite?
Battlefield 1 First Play Trial: 5 reasons to play!
Battlefield 1 First Play Trial is already out for gamers to have a taste of what the game would look like in a week’s time. Here are 5 reasons you all should give this trial a go!

Battlefield 1 First Play Trial: 5 reasons to play!
The first reason, obviously, the amazing graphics. Playing this trial, you will be awed by the level of details presented. You will feel as if you are at the scene too. Such level of graphics is truly impressive for a shooter game. It’s certainly the best Battlefield ever in terms of look. Secondly, in conjunction with the graphics, the story can actually move you to tears! The level of mud and blood, paired with the fact that you play as different characters whenever you die (yes, not the usual respawning business). That makes you really feel the brutality and cruelty of war. The mission and dialogues are also moving.
Thirdly, it is the multiplayer factor. Yes, story and content can be great, but ultimately it’s the multiplayer mode that draws people to this game. The Operations mode is truly impressive. Each match is based on real attles in the World War I (WWI), and each gives the real feel of the war. Although you get to do this while sitting on your sofa (or wherever comfortable for you), you will feel just as drawn out like real soldiers while attacking or defending a base.

Next, you will be impressed by the variety of the maps. This Trial added more maps than the beta, and in each you have to take advantage of the landscape. From utilizing small streets of Amiens to catch your enemy off-guard, to making use of the dunes to defend in Suez, it will be very tactical. Last but not least, it is the variety of weapons that can be used by the player. From the obvious use of guns, there are also many melee weapons that players can use, such as machete, knife, club, sword, etc. The most impressive has to be the shovel, as it reflects the lack of weapons in many cases.
Battlefield 1 First Play Trial: One week until the real deal comes!
Above are 5 reasons why this Battlefield 1 First Play Trial is worth playing. You will get a taste of what the real game looks like. There is only one more week until the game is released. So sit tight, enjoy the Trial, and wait for the main game!

DualShock 4 gamepad will be easily configured on Steam soon!
Until now, Valve has only allowed full configuration for the Steam controller. However, that will change soon. In a recent update, Valve said that they would indeed added configuration options for Sony’s DualShock 4 gamepad!

DualShock 4 gamepad will be easily configured on Steam soon!
The DualShock 4 gamepad from Sony first came to the market in 2013, along with he PlayStation 4. Since then, it has gained enormous fame, even on other platforms. It was even considered the best gamepad for PC, although opinions might differ on that. That said, it is proof that Dual Shock 4 is a very solid gamepad for PC gamers. It’s only fitting that Valve decides to give configuration options for this gamepad in the next update, making it the second configurable gamepad beside the Steam controller.
The way it works on Steam for DualShock 4 would be pretty much the same as for Steam controller. Valve explained that players will make the same API calls, as on the Steam gamepad. Furthermore, DualShock 4 also got a gyro and a touchpad, so it is similar to the Steam Controller in many ways. The company also commented that the PS4 controller support for the PC is quite weak, hence Steam will communicate directly with the gamepad to be more reliable.

All that seemed a little too technical, so we won’t expand on that here. In simple words, there will be more support options for PS$ controllers in the future, starting with the next update. Players will be able to just plug in or pair their DualShock 4 controller, and they can choose from many configuration options available to the Steam controller, even with the gyro and touchpad as well! That would be very convenient!
DualShock 4 gamepad is just the start for Valve and Steam!
That is good and all for those who got DualShock 4, but how about all those Xbox fans? Don’t worry, because Valve has planned for other gamepads to be configurable via Steam also, in future updates. So sit tight and wait for more updates!
