As a result, if Google buy HTC, both of them will benefit.

Then why HTC but not any other manufacturers? HTC is one of the few brands that have cooperated with Google before, so they have experience in working together. While Huawei – a previous Google’s cooperator – is currently very successful in the market, HTC is struggling. As a result, buying HTC will cost much less money than buying Huawei or other brands. Moreover, though being not successful in today’s market, HTC is still a respected name and its fan base is still big.
