Before we talk about this “weird” cooperation between Microsoft and Apple, let’s see how powerful this app is! Microsoft Pix is promoted to be a pro photo editing app for iOs smartphones. This app is capable of selecting the best frames, enhancing each photo and tweaking settings automatically! Pix also captures pictures before users even tap the shutter, so that no good moments is missed!

Another wonderful feature of Microsoft Pix is that it focuses more on the people in the picture! When the face is detected, this app automatically adjusts it settings to make the face look better, regardless of how difficult the lighting conditions are! It also comes with a proprietary multi-frame de-noise technology, which helps the face as well as the background look as life-like as possible.

Microsoft Pix even uses multiple technologies to produce the most accurate, truth color of skin tones, food, and foliage. This app also adjusts its exposure to make both the shadow and the highlight areas in the photo look clear and noise-less! Moreover, when interesting movements are detected, Pix automatically produces a short video called Live Image! So users can capture their precious moments!

We all know that Apple has invented wonderful camera sensors for its smartphones! Photos taken by iPhones are stunning and flattering! Now with the assistance of Microsoft, we’re pretty sure the combination will make a bit hit in the world of smartphone photography! The question is, why do the two rivals decide to work with each other? The best explanation so far is that both of them are tired of standing behind Google Android in terms of popularity! Microsoft Pix also signals many future cooperations between these giants! If the battle keeps going on, we’re happy to say that users benefit the most!

LG is making its big step to invest an amount of money in OLED display, which is expected to replace LCD for smartphones and other devices in the future.

OLED display: new age of flexible devices

Almost all the smart phones today support 2 main types of screen capacity: AMOLED and LCD that I mentioned in one of my articles. According to that, AMOLED is sported inside most of the high-end phones such as Samsung. Meanwhile, LCD is suitable to average and low-end handset. Now LCD’s manufacturer – LG Display Co., one of the world’s biggest makers of display panels used in smartphones and televisions, seems to make a move in the right direction to invest in OLED display.

So what is OLED display? And why is it so hot that everyone seems to be investing in these days? OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) is a flat light emitting technology. When electrical current is applied, a bright light is emitted. Because OLEDs emit light they do not require a backlight, thus they are thinner and more efficient than LCD displays. They can also be made flexible, even rollable and transparent. If you use Apple Watch, you will experience marvellous OLED, which is capable of producing brilliant color and contrast.

Although OLED display is not new, such technology has been used since 2001. Samsung made it wildly available with the introduction of the first Galaxy S in 2010. Years later, most high-end Samsung flagships appears with OLED technology, which allows the screen to bleed to the edge of the handset and to be curved. OLED technology, specifically OLED display is expected to replace liquid crystal displays (LCD) for smartphones as the standard technology in a few years.

OLED display: is it a wise investment?

In a press release, LG just announced that it will be investing 1.99 trillion won (approximately $1.75 billion) in a new 6^th generation flexible OLED display production line in Paju, South Korea. The investment in a new production line will give LG Display, a supplier of mobile phone displays to Apple Inc., the ability to boost production in the second half of 2018 since Apple needs to make a major change or get stuck to liquid crystal display panels for its iPhone screens.

On the occasion of Rio 2016 Olympics, Lenovo is bringing a new version of Zuk Z2 phone – Zuk Z2 Rio 2016 Edition. This device is now the cheapest SND 820 phone on the market.

With this new model, Zuk Z2 Rio is now the cheapest smartphone sporting a SND 820 chipset. So, if you want to buy this phone, you have to wait until next month. Zuk Z2 Rio 2016 Edition release date is on 2nd August. And it will be available in Asia. You can pre-order this phone in China. The price of the handset is about $240. However, there is a discount right now. So, Zuk Z2 Rio 2016 Edition price is down to $225.

As promised, at the release event today, Xiaomi introduced its two new products. Besides Xiaomi Redmi Pro, the company announced its laptop for the first time – Mi Notebook Air. And immediately, it caught everyone’s attentions for its stunning look. Sporting a metallic body, this laptop from Xiaomi is even 13% slimmer and 11% lighter than MacBook Air. The device comes with a backlit keyboard and a Full HD display with thin under-glass bezels.

New Android app will not just stop there. Google has announced the launch of Emergency Location Service, which sends your location of your phone to emergency services to emergency services in the event of dialing an emergency number, with support from mobile networks.

This new Android app is absolutely safe because your location is only sent to emergency services. More about privacy, all information about your location is never seen by Google or anyone else including Google server. The Emergency Location Service will be available as a part of Google Play Services. It supports phones running Android 2.3 Gingerbread or later. Google said it would cover around 99% of Android phones.

When Emergency Location Service is triggered, a GPS location is sent to Google, but anyway an operator will still ask you again about your location. In terms of wireless devices, it is kind of complicated, even with a GPS location, it can be hard to locate a caller who is inside a building or if they’re underground.

Emergency Location Service is already live in the UK and Estonia through carriers like BT, EE, Vodafone, O2, Tele2, and Telia.
