After selling its profitable Lumia division to Microsoft, Nokia seems to step up their game as they plan on the Nokia Withings affair – buying digital health company called Withings for € 170 ($191 million) in cash. This act has shown the firm’s ambition of re-entering the consumer market, especially digital health segment.

Nokia Withings: re-emerge the consumer market

When Nokia sold the mobile segment for Microsoft two years ago, many people believed that they were burying the coffin in which contain one of the giants of the consumer technology industry in the world. However, digital health was an area of strategic interest to Nokia, and they were now taking concrete action to tap the opportunity in this large and important market, said Rajeev Suri, president & CEO of Nokia in a press stament.

Withings is a French consumer electronics company and was founded in 2008. It has 200 employees and health-care products including activity trackers, weighing scales, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, home and baby monitors and more. They are soon will be added into Nokia ‘s wearables and fitness devices portfolio. Withings is a prerequisite for Nokia transforming itself into a leader of the Internet of Things ecosystem.

Nokia showed that it had the power to create compelling products proven by the introduction N1 tablet last year . Unfortunately, it did not expand distribution channels of this product outside the borders of China and Taiwan . Withings will give Nokia the chance to rebuild their capacity to design and introduce their image to young people. As for Withings, a 8-year-old firm, $191 million is not a small number and it could be a good deal for them. This Nokia Withings cooperation might be a major turning point for both parties.

Surface Phone with 8GB RAM – Microsoft’s new Powerhouse

In December Qualcomm officially announced to support Smartphones with 8GB RAM with their newest Snapdragon 830 (MSM8998) chipset. Around the same time Microsoft officially announced, that Windows 10 Mobile will also support the Snapdragon 830 Chipset for their newest smartphones. Microsoft did not promote their last phones, the Lumia 950 and 950XL very heavily. In fact Microsoft Smartphones and Windows Mobiles in general had a very hard last year in terms of sales.

If Microsoft wants to turn the tides, their only real chance might be the introduction of a Surface phone 2016, ideally with 8GB RAM and a Snapdragon 830. According to newest reports, Microsoft might launch up to 3 versions of the Surface Phone in 2016. One Surface High Spec one with 8GB RAM, one entry level and one mid-level phone. Although this duo flagship smartphone of Apple has not been officially announced, there are already a lot of information about them. At the moment, iPhone 7 has been said to sport a dual camera system which will allow the handset to “capture more image data with two separate lenses.” More specifically, the cameras will have an optical zoom with a 2-3X magnification and OIS.

All the reports about the Nubia X8 has been in circulation over the past few months and the world has been flurried again since a bunch of promo photos of this phone has showed up. Let’s take a closer look and see why there are so many expectations about it.

ZTE Nubia X8 Specs, design and release time

Nubia phones are developed by the Chinese communications giant ZTE. The phone will come with three versions and it is recorded as one of the largest-screen smartphones on the market. Despite of the large screen of 6.44 inches, it has a good screen-to-body ratio making it easier to handle. Nubia X8 also impresses people with its long battery life, might up to 4500mAh offering a long period of using time for consumers.

The firm will produce 3 variants of their brand new phone X8. The Standard model is powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and 1080p resolution display. The upgraded version a.k.a the Midrange model will has the same chipset as the standard one with the addition of 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and QHD resolution display. The priciest and also the most powerful version is the Flagship Model will feature the unbelievable specs: powered by the Snapdragon 823 chipset, combined with 6GB of RAM, and 128GB/256GB storage.

There are not many official information about this beast. According to the promo photos, it seems to has a dual LED flash, fingerprint scanner and metal unibody, details about the Nubia X8 camera is not yet confirmed. The exact Nubia X8 release date is unknown, most likely could be later this year and inevitably this will be a serious competitor to other products, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 6.

It is estimated that the Nubia X8 price will be around $450, which is quite reasonable for the powerful configuration. The other specifications of the phone has not been leaked yet, but we will update to you if there is any other information. Xiaomi Mi Max phablet: 6.4-inch, 16MP cam, Android 6.0.1

Xiaomi Mi Max can be a start of a brand new sub-brand of Xiaomi. If so, we guess it will be a series of phablets since according to recent reports, Xiaomi Mi Max specs will include a big display. You can put it in your jean pocket with a little room left to spare. As for Xiaomi Mi Max hardware, there will be a 6.4-inch Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 650 hexa-core 1.8GHz chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM on board, according to GFXBench benchmark.

Apart from those basic features, it’s worth noting that the Max will also run on new MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. And in terms of camera, the main one will be capable of 16 megapixels and the selfie snapper is 5 megapixels. They absolutely can produce great shots for you. Though, the rest of the Max’s specifications are still unknown.

Anyway, the above details have not been confirmed by the company yet. So, let’s wait a bit more to see if the handset will appear on another benchmark (like TENAA) with further information. In the meantime, let’s move on to the next part to get to know MIUI 8 and Mi Band 2, which will be released on the same day.

If you remember, OnePlus 3 specs used to appear on Antutu benchmark about one month ago. A 5.5-inch Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 32GB ROM were mentioned. However, recently, the OP 3 has once again been spotted on other benchmark websites, GeekBench and GFXBench to be specific, showing some important differences you need to know. According to the GeekBench listing, there will be up to 6GB of RAM instead of 4GB under the hood to run the whole handset. In addition, the screen size is also changed from 5.5 inches into 5 inches. Then, it must be handier, right?! For the rest, the OP 3 still boasts Full HD resolution, a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 16MP + 8MP shooter set, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

Well, OnePlus 3 with 6GB RAM will be awesome, yet you need to note that benchmarks can sometimes get things wrong. Furthermore, since the models are coded differently, “RAIN RAIN A3000” and “Rain A3000” as you can see, it is very likely that they are actually two variants of the OnePlus 3: one with 4GB RAM and the other with 6GB RAM.

The first thing we can notice immediately about these guys is that each of them represents the best reputation of its own company. However, we guess the Z1 Titan is somehow more outstanding in terms of appearance due to looking like a gaming smartphone.
