Lately, there has been a source mentioning that Sony will debut a new handset named Sony Xperia M Ultra. Well, if it is a member of Sony Xperia M series, we guess the device’s design will be similar to Xperia M5 released in August 2015. However, until now, no word has been made for that. On the other hand, some of Sony Xperia M Ultra specs have been revealed. They are said to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and a big 6.0-inch Full HD display. Actually, this screen reminds us of Xperia C5 Ultra also announced last year. In addition, a USB Type-C port, a fingerprint sensor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory (not know if it is expandable or not), and a large 4,280mAh battery are claimed to be on board as well to power the whole machine. As for photography, the camera combo will consist of a 23MP primary and an up to 16MP selfie shooter. Wow, it must be a cam-centric smartphone for 2016. Can’t wait to see the M Ultra in person. Google to equip 100 railway stations with free Wi-Fi this year

As far as we know, Delhi Metro is working on Free Wi-Fi, but they are not the only one. Google is also cooperating with the Indian Railways and Railtel to get more railway stations equipped with High-Speed Wireless Internet access. Speaking more specifically, 100 stations are in the plan by the end of 2016 and a total of 400 ones for the next years. More interestingly, Wi-Fi is free to every passenger as well as visitor.

At the moment, the service has already been available at nine stations. They are Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Ernakulam Jn, Kacheguda, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Vijayawada, and Vishakhapatnam. And just in January 2016, Mumbai Central became the 10th spot. So, there are 90 more to go this year and eventually to cover 300 more. Actually, the plan is part of Google’s mission to connect India with the Web. And after outlining it last December, Google India appears to be performing everything pretty well.

Moreover, recently Mr. Rajan Anandan – the managing director for South East Asia and India, has announced their Project Loon, which will be tested by Google and local telecom service providers. Its main purpose is said to be sending internet to users in flying balloons. Interesting, huh?!

Samsung to top the “Global Smartphone Brands” listing in the Q1 of 2016

There is a new report from TrendForce, “a world leading market intelligence provider”, indicating Samsung’s shipments did increase last quarter and the company is still number one in the list of global smartphone market-share. Congratulations, Sammy! Besides that announcement, the report also gave specific numbers to prove it.

With the shipments in Q1 of 2016 greater than what they expected at 81 million units (also a 2.5% increase from last quarter), Samsung must be very happy. Most people said it was thanks to the earlier availability of the flagship duo Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge and the success of Samsung Galaxy J series in Asia. Well, that can be true. The S7 and S7 edge were launched in February and then started going on sale in March instead of April like their predecessors. As for the J line-up, it contains affordable smartphones with decent hardware, which can easily attract lots of consumers in general.

However, overall, the global smartphone shipments in the Q1 of 2016 are not as good as the previous quarter. Actually it is a fall of 1.3% compared to the same period in 2015 and 18.6% to the Q4 last year. One of the main reasons is market saturation (the fact that no new customers can be found).

Then, where are other big guys such as Sony, HTC, etc.?

Surely they are included in the “Others” category. Despite having already announced their own flagships like Sony Xperia X, XA, X Performance, HTC 10, etc., some of them have not been available for sale yet (in Sony’s case) and some have just debuted (HTC 10). Apple iPhones are now famous for its beautiful and expert designs. But according to some predictions, Apple iPhone will make a change in its design in 2017, with iPhone 7 launch. The LCD screen will be instead by an AMOLED display.

The predictions come from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has deep supply chain sources and a good track record of predicting Apple’s future plans. Samsung Galaxy C7 specs is found recently on AnTuTu benchmarks. This reveals a C-series android phone from South Korean Manufacturer which will be introduced to the market soon.

Leaked on AnTuTu, The Galaxy C7 labeled with model name SM-C7000. It appears to have Snapdragon 625 8-core processor with a clocking speed at 2GHz. It features 4GB of RAM. The benchmarks also shows Adreno 506 GPU inside Galaxy C7 . There will be a 32GB onboard storage and can be expandable via micro SD card. Followed on AnTuTu 6, this devices scored at 60140 points.

The phone features 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. It is supposed to have a thin metallic body. Samsung galaxy C7 is known as a dual- SIM phone which both slots are for micro SIM. The device comes with fingerprint sensors and runs on Android Marshmallow (version 6.0.1).

As far as the cameras are concerned, Galaxy C7 is suggested to get a 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. On the back, the primary camera will have 16MP along with phase detection autofocus, LED flash supported.
