If you love taking pictures, Leica camera may not be something strange to you. It is considered as one of the world’s high-quality camera brand and you know what, the upcoming flagship Huawei P9 will sport Leica components, confirmed by Huawei. Well, this seems to be an awesome result of the partnership between Huawei and the premium German camera company Leica, which was announced once before.

“We are going to launch our P9 flagship phone very soon and this is a product that we worked with Leica to produce,” said Huawei deputy chairman Guo Ping. That is such a strong confirmation, making us more excited to see the P9 and the photos captured by this handset. Besides, the main shooter setup will surely own f/2.2 aperture and 27 mm focal length in addition to the expected pair of 12MP snappers on back.

So, from now on, we guess the Huawei P9’s dual rear camera will become more and more famous although there still has been no word made for what input Leica has given to support the Chinese manufacturer. Hopefully it’s gonna be a new great camera technology promising to produce cool pictures.

According to what we know about Apple, typically it would take around 5 – 6 months later until the day we see iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Nokia A1 to mark Nokia comeback 2016

It has been a while since we last heard about Nokia at MWC 2016, and now Nokia A1 appears like a hint for the comeback plan of Nokia. It is said to be a mid-range device sporting capacitive keys on the front surface and a brushed/pained plastic back. Though, we hope it will turn out to be metal which is so popular now, even for mid-rangers. Generally, in our opinion, Nokia A1 design is beautiful and able to compete with others well. As for Nokia A1 specs, there is some information you need to know. Looking at the picture, it is easy to notice the A1 is running on Nokia Z Launcher and likely to be based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Besides, according to the source, Nokia A1 will basically boast a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset, but for the rest of the specification package, there are no details to be found.

Anyway, we are looking forward to more decent features such as 3GB RAM or 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage, an at least 3,000mAh battery and a combo of 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera. Q1 of 2016 has already passed by with a lot of new budget smartphones being launched and introduced. Fast growing as it is, budget smartphones of 2016 have some significant features compared to that of last year.

Budget smartphones 2016: a significant improvment

Before we start, by “budget smartphone”, we are referring to those mobiles that cost no more than USD 300 (which is around PHP 14K and Rs 20K), a price that is rather affordable to the majority of users. First feature we have noticed from budget smartphones of 2016 is that, more and more of them are being packed with a strong 3GB RAM, instead of 2GB RAM like in 2015. Some great examples for this include, but not limited to Lenovo Lemon 3 Plus, Xiaomi Mi4s, Ulefone Vienna and so on…

The second feature we can find from budget smartphones of 2016 is fingerprint scanner. Used to be a signature of Apple iPhone products, fingerprint scanner can now be found on lower-end smartphones for under USD 300, or even under USD 200, both Chinese and non-Chinese handsets. Thirdly, as a big battery is becoming more and more preferable among users, more and more budget smartphones are offering the exact same feature: packing up a 3,000 mAH battery or even bigger for a smallest price tag possible.

Together with a decent battery capacity, the forth thing you can look for with lower than 300 dollars is fast charge capability. This makes charging time the best convenient we could ever enjoyed, allowing users to take the most advantage when buying a new smartphone, even for a very low price. Last but not least, even though a micro SD card slot is still highly appreciated, a bigger ROM is always of priority. That explains why many producers focus on giving their budget smartphones a very nice internal space for maximum storage. And you can easily buy 32GB ROM, 64GB ROM or even 128GB ROM with no more than USD 300.

This is not the first time we heard about ASUS ZenFone 3. Back in January 2016, two GFXBench benchmark tests revealed two upcoming ASUS devices which were pretty sure to be ASUS ZenFone 3 and its variant. And today, those machines’ renders have been published, claimed to be the designs of ASUS ZenFone 3 and ZenFone 3 Deluxe. As for the Zen 3, it looks great with curved aluminum frames and 2.5D glass on both front and back surfaces while the Zen 3 Deluxe is metal clad completely. Anyway, they still keep some typical features of ASUS smartphones such as distinctive “metallic spin” texture.

Spec-wise, both handsets are said to boast front-facing flashes and USB Type-C ports. Though, there are also some important differences you need to know. ASUS ZenFone 3 specs will probably have a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, a Snapdragon 650 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. About camera the main one will be capable of 12 megapixels with some special technology while the secondary snapper will be 8 megapixels.

On the other hand, ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe specs will offer a larger display with HD resolution and 5.9 inches in size, a Snapdragon chipset (but model is unknown for now) paired with 3GB of RAM. Apart from them, no words are made for the rest of the Zen 3 Deluxe as well as Zen 3 spec package.

Previously, some sources suggested ASUS would launch their ZenFone 3 and its variants in May or June 2016. Yet now, it seems to be more certain that the devices, especially the Zen 3 and Zen 3 Deluxe, will be unveiled at the trade show Computex 2016 starting from May 31 to June 4. Moreover, if the phones also come with affordable prices, like around $230, they will draw much people’s attention this year. Let’s wait and see!

Some new leaks about the world’s first foldable smartphone produced by Samsung have been spotted. Let’s check out what it offers and looks like!

Samsung foldable phone is coming true!

Back to 2015, at the end of the year, a Samsung foldable phone was leaked once under the name Project Valley. The smartphone was said to be consisting of two screens that could be folded, literally, and about to be introduced in January 2016. Well, January passed and saw no foldable phone. And at the time we thought it would just be a concept, the device was mentioned once again.

Speaking more specifically, a latest report from Korea has informed us that Sammy will start mass-producing foldable displays at end of this year. Some of its specifications have also been unveiled. According to the report, the upcoming Samsung foldable machine will pack a 5.0-inch screen “in folded form”, and can turn into a 7.0-inch tablet when being un-folded or opened (like what you see in the picture). Interesting, huh?!

Apart from the special display, some other sources even suggest that the firm is testing both Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 and SD 820 chip to run the Project Valley smartphone, while 3 GB of RAM will also be on board to help. So, those are what we’ve got so far. Hopefully more Project Valley specs will be revealed in the next weeks.

Recently, we have been able to spot a battery life test on expertreviews. They based on many factors such as the phone’s overall batt capacity (which is rated in mAh), screen brightness and resolution. We can see that they did not follow the common thought which is “the higher the mAh rating, the bigger the battery, so phones with bigger mAh capacities should last longer.” Yes, in fact, there are more things to decide how quickly drains the battery.

They examined a lot of handsets and put all the battery scores in one table to help you recognize the king easily. Speaking more specifically, they ran a continuous video playback test. On the other hand, they also set each machine to aeroplane mode, turn off automatic brightness plus sleep settings, and pushed the screen brightness up to 170cd/m2 to check their endurance.

Looking at the table, please note that blue bars are for Android devices, red ones for iOS and green for Windows. Obviously, Android phones account for a big part, which also somehow explains why they are being loved so much nowadays.

And the RESULT is…

And the result is that the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S7 is the true champion in terms of battery life though it just packs a not-very-large 3,000mAh cell. It lasted for 17 hours and 48 minutes. But, Apple iPhone 6S Plus was also the best iOS model when being able to keep running in 14 hours and 58 minutes. Meanwhile, the best Windows phone is Microsoft Lumia 950XL with 13 hours 02 minutes. Once again, congratulations, Sammy! You have proved that the Galaxy S7 is one of the strongest smartphones in the world right now!

It is no longer a surprise for us all that, Nokia is prepping their grand come back in the end of this year, 2016. And it has been a huge concern for Nokia fans to get to know what would likely be the next smartphone from the giant.

Nokia CEO: we are working on a premium smartphone

Back in June 2015, Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri had made an official announcement to confirm that, the company will return to producing smartphones, after their agreement with Microsoft is over, in Q4 2016. And in responding to public curiosity, Suri said that, the company is working on a premium smartphone and looking for a right partner to cooperate in producing their flagships. Specifically, Suri said: “There’s no specific time frame. We don’t need to be in a rush. We will explore this with the right partner or partners, depending on the case.”

By saying that, not only did Nokia CEO cleverly stimulate the interest from their fans and tech lovers around the world, but they also nailed it in keeping the company’s secret going, making the come back more of high expectation than ever. Up to now, there have been more than one alleged renders of the potential Nokia smartphones, some of which are very realistic that could easily be directly mass-produced. And a premium smartphone with a big battery and an awesome Pureview camera sensor.

And in order to prepare for this huge event, Nokia is looking for one or more partners to work with them, in terms of manufacturing their upcoming phones. That also explains why we don’t know any fixed day for the possible announcement of this flagship yet. But as long as it was confirmed by the company, it is worth waiting (and saving) for.

The first pieces LG G6 leaking were found on Giztimes, with an eye-catching render design. According to the source, LG G6 will be the next focused flagship by the increasingly popular G series from LG producer. And easily understandable, the 6th edition, aka the newest generation, will likely be the very best compared to its predecessors. If the smartphone turns out the same as the rumors we know for now, the G6 flagship is a nice beast that is worth waiting for.

In terms of LG G6 specs, the mobile allegedly packs a 5.6 inch screen with beautiful 4K display (up to 4096 x 2160 resolution), 5 – 6GB RAM with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip set. In combination, there will be an oc-ta core clocked at 3.0 GHz to maximize performance. LG makes sure to give their flagship a popular feature by adding up to 24MP camera on the back, and 7MP on the front for the G6.  The smartphone is also capable of fast charging, 4G LTE, waterproof and bendable display.

Other LG G6 features we noticed include: a decent 4,200 mAH battery, stylus pen, up to 128GB internal storage as well as fingerprint scanner and retina eye scanner. LG G6 will be available in 5 color variants: black, blue, copper, gold and white that meets up to your liking.

With all of the features we know thus far, LG G6 obviously targets the higher-end category. LG G6 price at this moment is expected to cost around USD 750. The smartphone will likely be officially launched in September 2017. But until then, there surely are other events to get ready for the grand introduction of this premium beast.

Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi5 Pro vs Huawei P9 Max: Awesome 4GB RAM Flagship War

Looking at the table, we can notice the phones’ similarities easily. For example, all of them have the same powerful 4GB RAM, the latest Android Marshmallow OS, fantastic camera combos, dual SIMs, and fingerprint scanners. Though, there are also many important differences we need to note. First of all, it is display. Both Huawei P9 Max and Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro are big phablets with around 6.0-inch screens. But if you prefer something handier, Xiaomi Mi5 Pro is the perfect choice. In terms of resolution, P9 Max is definitely the winner thanks to sporting 2K res.

As for processor, we think Snapdragon 652, Snapdragon 820 and Kirin 950 are all strong to perform any task you want, yet the SD820 can slightly have advantages. About ROM capacity, the Mi5 Pro is the champion once again, up to 128GB of internal storage. However, it does not support a microSD card slot to expand the memory. Anyway, we guess 128GB is already much enough for everything. Do you agree?

In the final paragraph, we would like to talk about battery and camera. No doubt the A9 Pro is the best here because of its massive 5,000mAh cell. You can use the phone in more than 3 days. So cool, rite?! And for main camera, both A9 Pro and Mi5 Pro own 16MP shooters which are great, yet we think the P9 Max’s dual 12MP rear snapper is more special. On the orther hand, when it comes to selfies, we cannot tell you exactly which one is the strongest. Although P9 Max and A9 Pro have 8MP sensors which surely can produce gorgeous pics of yourself, the Mi5 Pro’s 4MP UltraPixel sensor is not something they should look down on. Mi5 Pro’s secondary snapper can totally bring high-res selfies with high contrast and pleasant colors. So, in the end, it is pretty hard for us to pick out the winner. Can you help us?
