Sony Xperia C6: A handier selfie-centric smartphone…

Many people as well as Sony fans were kind of… sad when Sony did not show up at CES 2016 with new products. However, this somehow makes the theory that Sony will do something real big at the upcoming MWC 2016 even more possible. Besides the next flagship Sony Xperia Z6, we also expect other fantastic handsets from the company just like what they released in 2015, including the selfie-centric phone Sony Xperia C5 Ultra.

Lately, we have seen a handset appearing on the internet and it is considered as the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra’s successor but with a smaller size, so that they call it Sony Xperia C6 only, without “Ultra”. Looking at the pictures, we can recognize not only some familiar Sony design trademarks but also a great edge-to-edge display, pretty much like the C5 Ultra with 6.0-inch FHD screen. Nonetheless, we guess because of sporting 5.5-inch Full HD screen, it cannot be named Sony Xperia C6 Ultra.

Besides the display, we heard that Sony Xperia C6 specs would probably contain an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 2.0GHz chip, which is absolutely stronger than the C5 Ultra’s Mediatek MT6752 processor. And hopefully, C6 will still keep the gorgeous 13MP selfie camera to make it outstanding from other smartphones on the market.

As we mentioned, Sony missed a chance to impress people at CES 2016, so they’d better prepare well for MWC 2016. Sony Xperia C6 seems a pretty good device and hope that it will come to MWC 2016 with a bigger sibling called C6 Ultra. As for the price, C6 can cost around $380 once going on sale. Yet, let’s wait for the firm’s official announcement.

Firstly, let’s talk about display. Those three smartphones are expected to come with 5.2-inch Quad HD screens. Though 2K is not the highest resolution now, we guess it is great enough for a smartphone with that size, and you still get a bright, sharp screen with vivid colors. Besides, each of them will be protected by Gorilla Glass 4 to minimize scratching and covered by a slim metal body, bringing a premium feeling when you hold them.

Next, we have processor and RAM capacity. No doubt they will be powered by super strong and new chips nowadays. Yet, we should note that HTC One M10 and a variant of Samsung Galaxy S7 will deploy Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset while Huawei P9 will just be loyal to their own processor HiSilicon Kirin 950 and it will even pack up to 6GB RAM, making this Huawei’s product the best device here. Though, HTC One M10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 with 4GB RAM are also considered beasts when compared to many other current handsets on the market now.

Last but not least, we would like to look at their cameras and batteries. According to some news sources, Huawei P9 specs will include a dual rear camera with a main one still capable of 13 megapixels. As for Galaxy S7, there will be a 20MP primary shooter with BRITECELL sensor to assist in taking photos. And for HTC One M10, a 27MP camera with the best autofocus technology will be in charge. Well, each of the machines has their own special main snapper, and we think a camera comparison after they have already been launched will be more useful in choosing the winner. Don’t you think?

Nokia smartphone 2016: leaking with real image

Rumors about Nokia comeback in 2016 has been spreading for several months now. And the most current statement by Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri just made it even more official. On the very first days of 2016, an alleged image spotted on Weibo – a reputed Chinese website, is making Nokia fans all over the world very excited. Now that the New year is already here, and that the big day is coming close, it is natural and predictable that our tech forums will soon be full of Nokia news.

Beside this leaking image on Weibo, there is no other additional information. This means we can not say which model is this phone as well as the specs it is going to feature. However, based on the picture only, we can tell the this latest Nokia smartphone is all metal and measure around 5.0 to 5.5 inch display. Also, if you look closely, you can see the typical Nokia brand on the back of the device, making it a bit more official.

From what we know about Nokia comeback 2016 up till now, it is very possible that the image we see here is the long-expecting Nokia C1, which were earlier said to be powered by both Android and Windows OS. Also, recent sources are even now hinting not one, but three brand new Nokia smartphones already being developed by Nokia, and likely to hit the shelf soon this year.

Flagship Xiaomi Mi5 to come in February with Snapdragon 820

Recently, there has been a post by the Chinese manufacturer’s co-founder Li Wanqiang, appearing on Weibo and announcing that Xiaomi Mi5 launch will occur soon, or after the Lunar New Year February 8, 2016 to be specific. Well, no more rumor for now! However, if it is true, Xiaomi Mi5 will have to compete with the premium Samsung Galaxy S7 and its variants, which can make it hard a bit for Xiaomi. Don’t you think?

Besides, some details about the phone’s hardware have also got revealed. In the social media status, Mr. Li Wanqiang claimed that the handset has been in mass production and waiting for orders before coming out of the house. Furthermore, he added that Xiaomi Mi5 specs would really include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, making Mi5 one of the first SD820-run devices.

Unfortunately, the co-founder did not mention other features of Xiaomi Mi5. Though, we hope some top specifications such as 2K display, 4,000mAh battery, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and 4GB RAM will be on board no matter what happens. This is also the first smartphone in the world to feature premium Snapdragon 820 chip set. Spec-wise, Le Max Pro is equipped with many top features for smartphones: 4GB RAM, 21MP cameram, Snapdragon Sense ID (the ultrasonic based fingerprint biometric authentication technology), which is more reliable and secure than current capacitive-based fingerprint technologies.

3. ODG R7 smart glass Snapdragon 805

ODG R7 is like a Google Glass. It is actually a pair of sun glasses with an attached screen for you to see and read when doing other chores. Therefore, ODG R7 price is pretty expensive, up to $2750 as of now.

4. Sony TV – 4K HDR

This year, Sony brought to CES 2016 not one, but 3 new premium TV. Though all of them are more focused about the display quality rather than design, they still keep the good reputation with very classy appearance. Among the three, Sony X94D with 75” display is the most premium of all, and also the flagship Sony wanted to show off with the exhibition. The TV features a whooping 4K HDR display with over the top quality.

5. iCoptech 3D printer

Also at CES 2016, ICOP Technology showcased a handy 3D printer, with high quality product for a price of around USD 400. ICOP Technology is a producer who specialized in computers, automatic systems etc…This is their first ever attempt trying to produce a 3D printer.

This time, Samsung brought to CES 2015 a fridge + Android tablet hybrid. This is a brand new idea for their next smart device. The door of the fridge features a super huge display with Android-typical function button. Nokia 1008 – Unique twisting camera

This latest Nokia smartphone we saw with Nokia brand on it, is called the Nokia Lumia 1008, or Nokia Catwalk, with a very catchy design and unique camera module. He has also equipped his render phone with wireless charging and a back cover that is subjected to multiple designs simply customized by 3D printer. An interesting addition are light notification LEDs. Although Nokia 1008, or Nokia Catwalk is for now a concept design, we really hope this lovely handset will be picked and produced by the legend.

And this info has been strengthened more when leaked details or photos of the handset have been spotted on the internet for several times. What we have to show you today are some iPhone 6C renders created by Ferry Passchier, showing color options and even suggesting some varieties in the Apple iPhone 6C design.

Design-wise, it is said that the iPhone 6C will apply the aluminum body of Apple iPhone 5S or the candy-colored polycarbonate one of Apple iPhone 5C. However, looking at the pics, we guess Ferry Passchier has been inspired by colorful polycarbonate frame to make the device a more welcome sight instead of the usual colors like silver, space grey, gold, and rose gold of the aluminum material. Spec-wise, the iPhone 6C will probably not come with a physical home button or 3D Touch feature to reduce the price and be more affordable. 4. Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite

Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite is brand new Lenovo smartphone introduced in the beginning of 2016. Spec-wise, Lenovo Vibe S1 Lite specs contain a 5.0-inch Full HD screen, a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chip, Mali-T720 GPU, a dual SIM (of course), 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable ROM, a 2,700mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. According to the description, the GX8’s chassis is made of 90% metal, giving you a great feeling when holding.

On the front surface, you can see a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a 5MP camera for selfies and there is no physical home button but a “Huawei” logo at the bottom part. On the back, there is a cluster of a LED flash and a main 13MP shooter with OIS, sapphire lenses, plus a wider aperture to help produce higher quality photos in low light conditions. Besides, a fingerprint scanner is also on board and placed under the rear cam on Huawei’s new Smartphone for 2016.

Self charging battery = never ending battery

Battery life is the one feature that have very significant impact on the performance of any mobile device. A huge capacity can enable a handset to work smoothly for many hours, even days; while a smaller one will limit the using time. And as 2016 arrived, we are receiving a great news from MIT University: a group of researchers at the university are working on self-charging battery, which, in order words, means, an unlimited battery life.

The idea of this self charging battery is really amazing. You need to produce electrical energy not by using another source of power but by creating mechanical energy through movements. For example, when you go jogging, your movements will create a source of mechanical energy that can be used to charge this self-charging battery. To enable this process, the battery will be made of 2 thin layers of lithium alloys and a sheet of polymer, which is soaked in liquid electrolyte and placed between 2 layers.

Based on the research being conveyed at MIT University, such design of the self charging battery is very effective at moving lithium ions, when it is attached to the muscles of users, like knees or wrists, to transfer the energy created by walking. Such technology, when successfully finalized, can be used to charge wearable products like smartphones and smartwatches.
