Apple iPhone 7 display to apply OLED – Better visual for the future

After Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus launch, we immediately think about Apple iPhone 7. Though the iPhone 7 launch is still a year away, nothing can stop rumors and concepts from flying all over the internet. So far we’ve heard that iPhone 7 will come without a home button and now we’ve got something related to its screen, something related to OLED display.

DISPLAY (2)

Actually, we think the rumor can be reliable since it was from AppleInsider. Accordingly, the iPhone 7 will sport an OLED display, which means they will give up on LCD one. As we know, Apple watch is the only Apple device featuring an OLED screen nowadays and no smartphone is equipped with it. Back to 2013, Tim Cook claimed that the OLED was “awful” when it came to color saturation, which is totally different from what they are going to do with the iPhone 7 if the leak comes true. Yes, he may have changed his mind. The, what can be the reason behind this?

A possible one perhaps is that OLED display has been improved a lot compared to itself in 2013. Specifically, it is able to offer a deeper black and work without a backlight, so the smartphone containing it will be slimmer, a good idea for the upcoming iPhone 7. And we guess that LG can continue supplying Apple with OLED displays like they did for the Apple Watch.

In conclusion, changing from LCD to OLED is an awesome way to give phone users a better visual experience and Apple iPhone 7 can become more famous than its predecessors. Though, the company has not confirmed yet. So, let’s wait and see!

Samsung smartphones sale Q3 2015: Doubled iPhones

The competition in our smartphone industry today is always very intense. Smartphone producers compete against each other closely, and new trends are updated regularly. The numbers of units shipped worldwide or regionally, as reported after every quarter, is the best indicator to prove which are among the leading OEMs.

Samsung smartphones: doubling Apple iPhone in Global shipments

In that competition, the race between Apple products and major Android manufactures are especially high. In other words, we usually find Apple and Samsung on 2 ends of the scale, fighting against one another.

Strategy Analytics, a famous research firm has just published sales reports from Q3 2015. From that, Samsung sold 83.8 million units in the past quarter. Meanwhile, Apple only shipped 48.4 million iPhones during the same period. We can see from the figures that, Samsung smartphone shipments almost doubled those of Apple iPhone.

If you would like to know a bit further into the technical figures, Strategy Analytics also reveled figures about Samsung and Apple market shares. Going from July through September, Samsung had 23.% of the smartphone market globally. Comparing to Apple with 13.6%, we can see how much the Korean giant is leading ahead.

Samsung smartphones: what make their success?

According to the report, the majority of Samsung smartphone shipments in the last quarter were mainly mid-range unit like Samsung Galaxy A8, Samsung Galaxy J5 and Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (still:)

Despite lots of mixed feed backs, Samsung is still one of the most popular smartphone producers that have devices appear on most of the top smartphone lists. Explaining about this, I think this is all thanks to the wide variety of products Samsung manufactured: premium flagships, budget handset, camera-centric smartphones etc. You can find almost anything from them, literally.

Samsung smartphones: it is still growing!

Lately, their flagship Galaxy Note 5 won the title of “best smartphone display ever produced”. The beast also holds 5 spec records in the smartphone market that are not easily passed over. In order to prepare for 2016, Samsung is working on the upcoming Galaxy S7, with rumored Exynoss 8890 chip set and better camera than the Xperia Z5 by Sony.

TOP 5 gaming smartphones for November: 4GB RAM, 10 core processor

In this post, we would like to introduce some tips of how to choose the best gaming smartphones for you. Moreover, we have some extremely potential candidates for you, too. Now, check out the tips first!

gaming smartphones

You should consider these things:

– Processor: This is very important because if your processor has low productivity, you cannot enjoy millions of games in Play Store comfortably. Qualcomm’s chips such as Snapdragon 800 series, Samsung’s Exynos 7420, Exynos 5433 and Exynos, and MediaTek MT6595, MT6752 and MT6732 would be perfect.

– RAM: It is okay to go with a 2GB RAM smartphone, yet if you can pay more, a 3GB or 4GB RAM will be greater. Combining with the chipset, big RAM will help run your handset real fast.

– Display: It is not the most essential factor but without it, you cannot enjoy the game 100%. In most cases, HD 720p (1280 x 720 pixel) resolution is the minimum level for a good gaming smartphone. More ideal ones would be Full HD 1080p or even higher resolutions such as 2K and 4K.

– Battery: This affects directly the time you can play games on your phone. You should choose a machine sporting a battery capable of more than 2,500mAh.

– ROM: Last but not least, a smartphone good at gaming needs at least 16 GB internally or the more the better.

So, those are just some tips. In fact, it is not very hard to find phones that meet the demands, yet there are some which do not have all the good things but are still worth considering due to its special features. After searching, we found the following devices. Check them out!

Best gaming smartphones for November:

1. Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 edge

Thanks to their octa-core Exynos 7420 64-bit chips, 3GB RAM, 32/63/128GB ROM, 5.1-inch AMOLED Quad HD screens, they will completely give you fantastic experience with playing games. However, the only things that seem minuses are their 2,550mAh (S6) and 2,600mAh (S6 edge). Anyhow, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge specs are wonderful enough for you to play all kinds of games on the Play Store.

2. Microsoft Lumia 735

Basically, Microsoft Lumia 735 specs are not outstanding at all but it has SmartGlass app which turns the Lumia 735 into a second screen. It means Xbox gamers can stay connected with their friends or rivals while enjoying Dead Rising 3 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. Also, with Windows 10 OS, Xbox gamers can get some expanded features including Game DVR and streaming controls.

3. LG G4

Additionally, the LG G4 specs are super cool with a 5.5-inch 2K IPS Quantum display, which promises all your favorite game apps will virtually move out of the screen in bright and colorful details.

4. HTC One M9

Sound is the thing helping your game become more lively and One M9 can bring you the best sound. HTC One M9 specs boast a dual front-facing speaker with built-in amplifier and Dolby Audio surround sound. Together with HTC BoomSound, M9 gives you a crystal-clear 24-bit high-def audio. Games would never be that fun!

CONCLUSION:

Nokia Snake game reborn!

When smartphones were created and then have been so popular, we’ve seen a lot of interesting games like Angry Birds, Candy Crush Saga, etc. become famous perhaps thanks to many factors such as characters, display colors, sounds, simple rules, and so. However, before them, there was a much more simple game that ruled the mobile gaming scene. It is the Snake game.

snake-nokia-480

Do you remember it? Did you ever feel addicted to it? Yes, we did. It was such an extremely annoying yet engaging game firstly included on a Nokia 6110 in 1997 and then on all Nokia phones. Talking about its developer, it was Taneli Armanto and he is also the one that has brought the Snake back. Accordingly, the new Snake version is dubbed Snake Rewind and available for Windows Phone, Android and iOS handsets.

“Taneli Armanto and Rumilus Design have joined forces to bring you Snake Rewind! Iconic elements and intuitive gameplay from the original Snake are combined with cool visual effects, sounds and many new features. The result is a game that will entertain, challenge and delight you time after time!” said Rumilus Design.

Some small changes have been applied but Snake Rewind still has the basic blueprint as the original one. We also should note that the graphics of the game is updated and equipped with music and sound effects. Fortunately, you can rewind time once your snake crashes any time. Sounds good?

As usual, Snake Rewind is free but in case of wanting to purchase in-app upgrades or some special items, you have to access to a “fruit store”. For a fuller list of Snake Rewind features, let’s take a look at the following part:

 – Rewind the snake to continue playing after crashing

 – Collect various special kinds of fruit with unique powers and effects

– Include 10 levels with fun and challenges; each level is built with distinct visual and music.

 – Have a fruit store offering boosters and items

– Compete against other players or your friends on Facebook; scores and rankings will be listed on the leaderboards.

– Have a special thing for players if they are able to fill the whole screen with the snake

CONCLUSION

To recap, we are glad that some “traditional” games for phones like Snake game has a chance to come back. Maybe next year, when Nokia returns to producing mobiles, we will see Snake Rewind on all Nokia smartphones just like the good old days.

Samsung Galaxy S7 VS Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

Samsung Galaxy S7 VS Sony Xperia Z5 Premium: Shining on their stages

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is too famous for being the first smartphone ever with beautiful 4K display. Mixed comments have it said from the users, worrying about the heavy display will shorten the device battery life. However, so far, Sony has done well in reassuring all the doubt, explaining about their power saving mode.

Samsung Galaxy S7, yet to be launched, has already claimed to carry the most powerful chip set every by Samsung: Exynos 8890. Impressed by the company’s previous chip Exynos 7420, the Benchmark result of this alleged 8890 generation has excited tech geeks around the world. This makes Samsung Galaxy S7 one of the most looked forward to devices of 2016.

Samsung Galaxy S7 VS Sony Xperia Z5 Premium

Samsung Galaxy S7 VS Sony Xperia Z5 Premium: camera battle!

Currently, the Xperia Z5 family is holding the crown for best smartphone camera in the world, with IMX 300 sensor by Sony and super fast 0.03s autofocus.

It seems like the Xperia Z5 will stand on their crown for a very long while. Until we heard that, Samsung is trying to buy Sony’s IMX 300 for their Galaxy S7. If this becomes real, it is very possible that the Galaxy S7 will take over Sony’s place at Best smartphone camera in the market!

Samsung Galaxy S7 Vs Sony Xperia Z5 Premimum: closing note

Both devices are no doubt the best beast their companies produce up to now. And both are no doubt the flagships Samsung and Sony take pride in. Each comes with a special feature no one else has (yet), and a feature meant to be so good it can beat other competitors easily. Let’s wait until we know both Samsung Galaxy S7 VS Sony Xperia Z5 Premium price to see whether it could add in to their winning key points against each other.

Samsung Galaxy S7 camera to take over Sony Xperia Z5

From what we hear of the last reports, Samsung is working on their next generation Exynos 8890 chip set for the upcoming Galaxy S7. The chip set will get mass production in December 2015, followed by Samsung Galaxy S7 launch set in January 2016. This time, we heard some interesting news about the Galaxy S7 camera!

iPhone7conceptscavids3490x264_thumb

And according to recent news, we got to know that, Samsung Galaxy S7 camera flagship is expected to feature their first 20MP ever, making a huge jump compared to their current best – 16MP found in Galaxy Note 5.

For the time being, Samsung is having talks with Sony – the Japanese Giant in producing smartphone camera. If everything goes right, it seems that Samsung will be adapting Sony IMX 300 Series sensors for their future flagship.

If you know about the smartphone world, I bet you remember Sony Xperia Z5 camera with 23MP is currently the best smartphone camera in the entire market. The IMX 300 sensor Sony used for their Xperia Z5 beast has impressed Samsung, which leads to such business deal.

IMX 300 sensor buy Sony – what is so attractive

What is so attractive about the IMX 300 sensor by Sony that motivated Samsung to request buying? DxOMark, a testing tool, put the IMX 300 among other top camera sensors, and said that it was the best they have ever tested. This comment itself is powerful enough to clear out any doubt.

Talking about IMX 300 specifications, It has the ability of providing 25 mega pixel and a 192-point hybrid autofocus system. This has been proved with the Xperia Z5 camera: 23MP and fastest 0.03 seconds autofocus.

Samsung Galaxy S7

Samsung Galaxy S7 to feature Sony camera sensor

Initially, Sony planned to keep this sensor only for the Xperia smartphones, so that they can keep the top position in smartphone camera battle. However, Samsung is negotiating and who knows, their strategies could change any minute. If you want to make a prediction, please keep in mind that, Sony is having quite a tough time in terms of sales for the past years, despite the success of several good products. (Like the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia M5 Dual, Xperia Z5 etc). Meanwhile, Samsung, regardless of some ups and downs, has never lost their market shares or the number of global shipments.

It is a long way ahead to know whether Sony would sell their IMX 300 for Samsung or not. But if they do, we can totally expect Samsung Galaxy S7 camera to be the next winner of “best smartphone camera” title! Xiaomi Mi4c vs OnePlus X: Mid-rangers Battle

OnePlus and Xiaomi are two of the most well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturers. However, if Xiaomi has various kinds of phones for many kinds of consumers, OnePlus seems to be sort of limited in products. So far they have just had OnePlus One and OnePlus Two as premium machines and OnePlus X as the only and newest budget one. Nonetheless, it is a pretty good handset and can beat many others in its type. Well, let’s see if the X can do that in the following battle:

Xiaomi Mi4c vs OnePlus X

Price $204 (about RM896) for 16GB ROM + 2GB RAM$235 (about RM1,032) for 32GB ROM + 3GB RAM  $249 (RM1,070)

Firstly, we see that the X is thinner than Mi4c but a bit heavier and it is also not very colorful due to owning just 2 color options: Onyx and Ceramic. But, if you do not feel that is a problem, we think OP X looks more premium and beautiful thanks to the metal frame placed between glasses on the front and the back, which somewhat reminds us of Samsung Galaxy S6 design and Sony Xperia Z series one as well. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi4c design is not very different from its sibling Xiaomi Mi4i when sporting a plastic cover. Actually, in our opinion, it is actually cuter but not cooler than the X. Agree?

Secondly, in terms of specifications, there are some differences we should note. Obviously it is the chip. They both use Qualcomm Snapdragon ones but Xiaomi Mi4c boasts the SD808 and OnePlus X the SD801. Here, the 808 is stronger than the 801 as you can see in the picture below:

Snapdragon808-1-640x336

Then, Mi4c sports a bigger battery (3,080mAh vs 2,525mAh). Therefore, the Xiaomi appears to have more advantages now. However, OP X has the expandable internal storage, which means that you can store a lot of things. Besides, it features an up to 8MP front-facing camera which is an ideal one for selfie lovers.

Finally, we would like to consider the prices. In general, Xiaomi Mi4c price (3GB RAM ver) is similar to OnePlus X price. Then, we cannot tell which one is greater in terms of price. So, you have to base on your needs to pick out the winner for yourself 😉 . If you like taking gorgeous selfies and huge ROM for stuff, just relax and go with the X. On the contrary, you want a powerful smartphone with a pastel color, it has to be the Xiaomi Mi4c. Very simple, right?!

In conclusion, we are glad that more and more good phones like Xiaomi Mi4c and OnePlus X are produced nowadays. We totally can get a budget one but it can do a lot of things for our work, study, entertainment, etc. No matter what you choose, we bet that you will have a fantastic device to use all day lone 🙂 .

Nokia 4G LTE: 50 times stronger than what you knew

Last year, Artemis Network introduced pCell technology which is a mobile wireless tech allowing “equipped mobile devices within a pCell coverage area to each receive 100% of the available theoretical bandwidth capacity.” It may sound a bit unrealistic but Nokia is joining the project. Therefore, probably we will have a powerful wireless network next year when the giant Finland comes back!

Nokia Network

pCell is…

…more advanced than current mobile wireless data technologies such as 4G LTE which makes the data throughput decrease once more and more devices become active in the coverage area. On the other hand, pCell promises to offer about 50 times the 4G LTE network’s capacity while using the same wireless spectrum. So, we can see that this is such an great idea for a big place like a stadium.

However, when pCell was first announced, many people doubted it but lately, we have been informed that the tech is eventually going to be tested. And of course, its goal is still to increase wireless connectivity speed. Nonetheless, one special thing we have to tell you is that Artemis Networks will do the test with Nokia, starting next year, 2016, also the year which will see Nokia’s comeback.

Nokia 4G LTE

What will Nokia do?

Specifically, according to this new agreement, Nokia and Artemis will be working in conjunction with some wireless carriers to examine pCell in places like stadiums (as we mentioned above) since they will have a huge number of mobile devices needing a great amount of wireless network. In addition, it will work on existing Apple and Android smartphones.

“I have seen the demo … in a very controlled environment, but it seems to work,” said Hossein Moiin, Nokia Networks’ chief technology officer, in an interview. “What we’re doing next is demonstrating that it does work. I’m not 100 percent sold, but I’m a believer.”

Also, Nokia will connect pCell to the networking equipment that they propose and they have to make sure calls will not be dropped if the caller moves from a 4G LTE network into the stadium equipped with the pCell. At first, we have to admit we thought the concept of pCell is too good to be true. Yet, after knowing that Nokia is joining the game, we believe some positive results will be seen. Then, Nokia will even be backing the Artemis’s finance to develop the tech more and integrate it into current systems.

In the end…

…if the pCell works well, it means we do not have to be afraid of being difficult or unable to connect the Wi-Fi in a crowded place. And we believe it will work since Nokia is trying also.
