1. What does Google Stadia have in its game selection?

First and foremost, the game selection. Without a doubt, many of us are wondering if Google can provide us with a list of the hottest game titles. So far, we have seen various screenshots of the Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Doom: Eternal. Otherwise, Google’s presentation doesn’t reveal specific details on what games we can expect to see on Stadia.

Besides, to make a game “playable” on the platform, Stadia requires it to be ported or re-coded to fit its new environment. While major studio like Ubisoft can publish on multiple platforms simultaneously, this might be a problem for smaller developers. Let’s wait and see what Google Stadia can offer when it’s launched!

2. Will Google Stadia be “free”?

After the game selection, perhaps the cost of the platform is what many players consider the most! Do we have to pay a subscription fee? Or maybe it will be a part of YouTube or maybe YouTube Red? Maybe there can be a demo, then you have to pay? And if it’s free, do players need to go through ads every game, while playing? Without a doubt, Google is trying to avoid this topic during their presentation. For now, perhaps having ads is the way to go for the US brand.

3. How’s the game image quality?

These days, it’s not hard to find a decent game with mind-blowing graphics. We can easier decide if the graphic is good based on the game build like textures, light gradation or even background details (shade, sky, color…) However, will those details remain the same quality in a stream? With the game being ported to various format to fit any device, there is a chance that we can see the loss of some image quality. This is also a problem that Google needs to consider when launching Stadia.

4. Will iOS users be able to join Stadia?

So far, Google only confirmed the availability of Stadia on Android platform. Despite Google and Apple long-run rivalry, iPhone owners are usually the ones with a “big wallet”. As a result, it comes as a surprise that we didn’t see any live demo on iOS during the presentation. On the other hand, Apple’s regulation usually prevents users from running a store within its App Store. So this is also a problem Google needs to solve if they want to put Stadia in the Apple Store. On the other hand, there is a possibility that Google can use the platform to attract users to its Pixel devices. However, not everyone will be willing to purchase these Pixel smartphones.

5. Will you go from consoles/PC to smartphone gaming?

While games on smartphones are now one of the biggest markets globally, there is still a question regarding the difference between playing games on consoles/PC or phones/tablet. How many people would actually play Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey on their tablet? Or even their 6.7” smartphone? With games that are time-consuming, smartphones with a low battery capacity might not be the best choice.
