Almost anyone can make a photoshop or GIF joke nowadays, with the help of the Internet along with many tools. With that, game mods have become the new high of Internet jokes. The recent saga of Galaxy Note 7 explosions has become a source for that, and now we have Galaxy Note 7 bomb in GTA 5!

Many games nowadays are not restricted to what the developers constructed. There are mods, short for modifications, from external parties, that changes the game in a number of ways. Usually, these changes are for enhancing the game in a number of ways: graphics, visuals, even gameplay. Those are the more “serious” mods. However, just like in everything, mods can be used for some good old jokes as well. Mods with the purpose of catching up to a trending jokes are especially welcomed by the Internet.

Now we come to GTA 5, a mega-hit success when it was released. It broke all kinds of records in the first days of sale. Being an open world game, modders have found a lot of ways to make use of their creativity. As we already mentioned, there are “serious” mods, and there are goofy mods. GTA 5 has housed tons of the latter since release date. Last year, one modder made a whale fall from they sky, another built a skate ramp with the size of a skyscraper, for example.

Even three years after it first went on sale, the modding community of GTA 5 is still hard at work. Now, with the recent Samsung Galaxy Note 7 explosion fiasco, one modder, HitmanNiko, as created a gag mod inspired by the incidents. In the mod, all the sticky bombs have been replaced by Galaxy Note 7s. While the real Note 7’s battery is at risk of explosion, the modded Note 7 is way more extreme. With this modification of GTA 5, we can see that literally anything can become an Internet joke. Of course, we must give credits where it’s due, these works of mods take time and dedication. Remember, this is all in the spirit of good fun. We sincerely hope no more people got involved in any explosions from any devices, and the brands continue to give us customers their best products.
