Honor Play smartphone goes official with Kirin 970 chipset and 6GB RAM!

After Xiaomi, Huawei is the next smartphone manufacturer jumping into the gaming phone segment this 2018. This June, the Chinese brand finally unveiled their first gaming smartphone under their sub-brand Honor. Meet the Honor Play smartphone! Firstly, the Huawei Honor Play smartphone belongs to the mid-range segment with an affordable price. However, Huawei still equips this Honor handset with a quite powerful hardware and software. Let’s find out what they have in stored for us!

Firstly, Huawei Honor Play specs sport a large 6.3-inch screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 1,080 x 2,280 px resolution. Under the hood, Huawei provides this smartphone with Histen audio technology; which usually provides 3D game sounds and 7.1 channel virtualisation. On the other hand, the Honor Play smartphone runs on the Kirin 970 processor with engineered GPU Turbo. As a result, this powerhouse offers a boost in the performance for their users.

On the other hand, the Honor Play comes in two different variants: 4GB RAM/64GB ROM and 6GB RAM/128GB ROM. Additionally, there can also be a microSD card which can expand up to another 256GB. Furthermore, the Honor Play smartphone packs a 3750mAh battery box. As for the operating system, the Honor handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and EMUI 8.2 out of the box. How about the photography system? Huawei Honor Play camera sports dual 16MP + 2MP lenses on the back with recognition for over 500 scenes, powered by the NPU, Kirin’s AI core. On the front, there is also another 16MP selfie shooter which does 3D portrait lighting. Finally, Huawei Honor Play has different colours: Magic Night Black, Aurora Blue, Nebula Violet and Red special edition.
