IFA 2016: What to expect at Germany’s biggest tech show?

IFA is coming in Berlin, Germany and it is the second-biggest annual tech show in the world. It’s promised to show lots of new tech trends and projects from famous brands. Let’s take a glance to see what is waiting for us in IFA 2016?

1. Ultra HD Blu-rays explosion at IFA 2016

Since this show is normally dominated by Tv, it’s not so strange to see producers choose this IFA 2016 to drop some of their 4k TV. Last year, Samsung has shown the first Ultra HD Blu-ray in the world. Then there were 2 from Panasonic and Phillips. But it seems that UHD Blu-ray attractiveness has never ceased to increase.

This year, it’s even getting hotter since world-famous film studios such as Universal Pictures started to release their products in HD Blu-ray. This means we all need an Ultra HD Blu-ray tool to play these wonderful movies. Understanding how much profit they can make from this, Samsung, Panasonic, Phillips, and LG are in the race to deliver the best TV.

2. Ultra HD Premium adapt to industrial standard

Maybe we all have known what Ultra HD Premium format can do. It brings image quality to a standard beyond imagination. Since it is still new, not all devices can make use of this completely. But now everything is changing. It’s hoped that all Tv will soon be produced to adapt to this new standard. These TV may be shown in this IFA 2016 event. Unfortunately, 2 of the biggest manufacturers – Sony and Phillips have refused to follow the trend. But hopefully, their prospectives will change in the future if they want to stay alive in the game.

3. Wearables are out of fashion

Everyone definitely remembers that wearables had made such a great sensation at IFA last year. From the fancy Apple Watch to Asus Zenwatch, all were made to impress. However, they are only the history now, even though some brand like Samsung is still trying to bring it back with Samsung Gear 3. These accessories will be revealed while IFA 2016 is happening. But their effort may seem to be a hopeless attempt since not all buyers are interested in these.

4. Home automation is a trend at IFA 2016

Home automation is not really a new idea since it has been shown by movies so many times. But still, this has only become reality and spread wider in the past few years. In 2015, Samsung announced that SmartThings Hub can be connected to house lighting, thermostat, security monitoring and other systems to our growing list of smart devices. Furthermore, Nest has announced that it has opened the networking protocol. Such protocol is named Thread and used for communication between Nest devices. The reason for this move is that Nest obviously cannot work with Samsung SmartThing Hub. Despite the expensive price, many people are still very eager to see how this tech will change life in the future.

5. The absence of VR at IFA 2016

The sad thing is VR may be absent in this IFA 2016. It sounds a bit ridiculous because VR is the hottest thing in tech world now. You don’t even need to be a tech geek to know how hot it is. It seems that all the brands have promoted their VR games and products on all events (Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show,…) – but IFA. Still, we don’t know the reason why this “incident” happens. Brands like Samsung and HTC claimed that they want to focus showcasing their phones instead. In this case, it’s a good interpretation then. Because who doesn’t love to see new smartphones from these giants?

6. More amazing new phones at IFA 2016?

Yes, that is the answer you are looking for. A tech show will not be a tech show when there is no presence of smartphones. Even though IFA is not a huge event for phones, it has become Samsung’s tradition to launch their new phablet at IFA. It’s also rumoured that Sony is trying to compete by bringing Xperia Z6 to this year IFA. Such news is making everyone even more excited to think about going to the event.

IFA 2016: Worth raising your expectation

Besides all these trends, there are still more interesting techs and products that are kept hidden. Because of this, IFA is promised to be a buzzard event for everyone. Not only it’s worth raising our expectation but it also makes us want to take a fly to Berlin so much.
