This March, LG has finally filed the necessary paperwork for three new trademarks in the EU market. Notably, all of the three were about marketing microLED displays. In details, LG wants to own XµLED, SµLED, and XLµLED. As a result, once LG received the granted document, they can begin using them in their shipping products. Furthermore, according to the filings, the three trademarks are fundamentally for “mobile phones, or smartphones”.

However, this is the first time we catch the news about the display panel maker creating micro-LEDs for the smartphone market. On the other hand, LG is also planning to use this trademark for their other product lines.
