The Mario x Rabbids RPG is coming to Switch!

Among many games going to be released for the Switch, Mario x Rabbids Kingdom Battle is among the big ones and is very anticipated. The game itself has been speculated for a while, and has been recently confirmed with the released art. The concept of the Mario x Rabbids RPG game is that it will blend Nintendo’s famous plumber (and his friends) with characters from Ubisoft’s Rabbids series, which is also a very popular one.

Back in August and September last year, the first rumors about this collaboration of a game came about. Back then, it was considered a “bizarre” project, with strange choice of collaboration. According to what was hinted back then, Ubisoft was the one to develop this game, using Snowdrop engine. The game’s main attractions are: a turn-based combat, a local two-player co-op mode, and of course, a kind of goofy sense of humor, befitting the characters included in the game. The arts, which were not revealed, are said to illustrate Mario and his pals wielding laser beam-shooting guns.

Apparently, these are the characters that have been confirmed to be featured in the game: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, and four Rabbids dressed as the formers. Which is quite a unique design choice. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was first reported by Laura Kate Dale, who became famous for leaking a lot of details about the Nintendo Switch, and many of that became true when the device launched. At about the same time, a French website GameBlog also reported this, calling the game a “Yoshi / Rabbid Rabbits crossover”. It is likely this game will be introduced firstly at E3 this year.

Mario x Rabbids RPG: Bizarre idea that might just work!

For now, Nintendo and Ubisoft has kept their mouths shut about this game. Hopefully we will get some official announcement soon. Do you think this will be a fun game?
