MediaTek has just launched its new chipset – MediaTek Helio P15 .This is the successor of Helio P10 with 10% better performance. It sports a faster CPU and a stronger GPU.

Recently, the MediaTek company has introduced its new chipset – Helio P15. This chipset is the successor of MediaTek Helio P10, which was launched last year. As MediaTek unveiled, compared to Helio P10, the new Helio P15 will come with latest technologies and better performance. Generally, it could bring 10% better performance.

Let’s talk about the old Helio P10 beforehand. This chipset comes with 8-core 64-bit Cortex-A53 with 2GHz of speed, along with the new GPU T860MP2. With the TSMC’s 28nm HPC+ technology, Helio P10 allows the phone to save 30% power consumption. In addition, the Helio P10 can support a camera with 21MP resolution and LTE Cat-6 connectivity. There are some famous devices with Helio P10 such as Sony Xperia XA, Lenovo K5 Note, Oppo F1s Plus, Meizu M3s, and so on.

 

Now, the Helio P15 is reported to come with 10% better performance. Besides, this new chipset also provides better power efficiency. Like Helio P10, Helio P15 is built on TSC 28nm process. However, it comes with a faster CPU speed of 2.2 GHz and stronger GPU. On Helio P15 chipset, there is the same Mali-T860 MP2 CPU with a faster speed of 800MHz, compared to 700 MHz on the Helio P10. There is no information on the supported RAM, but this new chipset will support LTE Cat.6 and single-channel LPDDR3-933 memory.
