Nokia 7.1 review

So far, HMD Global has introduced the Nokia 7.1 as an “affordable flagship” to global consumers. While the hardware of this Nokia handset is as premium as other 2019 flagships, the new Nokia 7.1 still offers decent performance for its user. Regarding the design, this Nokia phone goes for the simplistic style with the appearance of silver edges around the metal frame and camera module. Additionally, the power and volume buttons also sport similar margins.

The Nokia 7.1 specs include a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display (2280×1080 pixels resolution). It also supports HDR, a feature we usually don’t see of the mid-range handset. There is also an SDR to HDR converter to help provide some more contrast to SDR photos and videos. However, the downside of this setup is the big bezel at the bottom (which house the Nokia logo) and a notch up top. The Nokia device now runs on Android 9.0 Pie version.

Under the hood, it comes in two variations: 3GB RAM/32GB ROM or 4GB RAM/64GB ROM (expandable). Furthermore, the handset also runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, 1.8GHz octa-core Kryo 260. While this is a mid-range processor, it is good enough for the majority of day-to-day tasks without any significant slowdowns. On the other hand, its decent 3060mAh battery box also ensures that we can use it up to a day at least. Furthermore, the Nokia 7.1 camera packs a dual 12MP f/1.8 with PDAF + 5MP f/2.4 rear snappers with Fixed Focus, dual flash. Meanwhile, the front camera is another 8MP lens with Fixed Focus feature.

Conclusion

While the Nokia 7.1 isn’t comparable to other high-end devices like Nokia 8 or 9 PureView, it sure does a pretty good job for such a price tag. The Nokia 7.1 release date fell in October last year. You can easily purchase it through any Nokia stores now. Notably, the Nokia 7.1 price varies from Rs. 18,100.
