Nokia 8 to receive Pro Camera update!

If you have been a bit disappointed with the quality of the photos taken with the Nokia 8, the Pro Camera update should consistently improve some of the camera’s downsides. HMD Global has been mentioning the so-called Pro Camera update for a few months now and guaranteed to bring it to its older Nokia devices at some point. Apart from the Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus phones already have that pre-installed, Nokia 8 is one of the selected phones that benefits from the Pro Camera update.

The company claims that their engineers needed to take a long time in order to implement all the new features in the Pro Camera update so they could bring the best for consumers. And eventually, the update now comes to Nokia 8 users. HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas confirmed the Pro Camera mode will be available through an OTA update around the globe. The update weighs in at 600MB and includes Pro Camera mode as well as interface improvements and some tweaks for the system stability.

In the meantime, let’s check out the Nokia 8 specs. The phone includes a 5.3-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. Additionally, it runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo and packs a 3090mAh juice box. Under the hood, the Nokia phone gets power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset at the core. On top of that, the handset comes in two variants: 4GB RAM/64GB ROM and 6GB RAM/128GB ROM. For Nokia 8 camera, it features dual 13MP primary snappers with phase detection, laser autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED dual-tone flash. Meanwhile, there is a wide-angle 13MP lens with phase detection autofocus for taking selfies up-front.
