OnePlus 5 Oreo update roll out cancelled, the reason is…!

Previously, we have reported about the Android 8.0 Oreo is coming to the OnePlus 5 this January. According to OnePlus, this new update will bring in many features for this handset. Notably, OnePlus 5 will also sport the critical function similar to its successor, OnePlus 5T: Face Unlock. However, to activate this feature, users will need to install the OxygenOS Open Beta 3 program.

Under the hood, the Face Unlock on OnePlus 5 handset enables you to your phone by just looking at the camera. On the other hand, OxygenOS Open Beta 3 for OnePlus 5 also comes with some improvements. These enhancements include fixing the connection issue of 5G Wi-Fi, Optimizations for vibration, general bug fixes. Moreover, there is also the updated Android security patch of December. Finally, the Recorder app now has an app shortcut.

However, during the beta test for OnePlus 3/3T Oreo upgrade, many users have raised their complaints about the program. Unfortunately, the OnePlus 5 Oreo update roll out also suffered the same fate. OnePlus stated on their forum: “Because of a bug on Oxygen 5.0, we have cancelled its global release. And we’re preparing for Oxygen 5.0.1; the partial release will go alive soon.” For now, all we know is that OnePlus has confirmed about the appearance of a major bug, though no more details revealed.
