According to recent reports, OPPO was working on a toned-down R17 version called the OPPO R17 Neo. In details, the entire specs-sheet of the upcoming handset unveiled and presented a good insight into the calibre. Otherwise, things changed today as we have received some details of the OPPO R17 Neo. As predicted, the OPPO R17 Neo follows in the footsteps of its hugely successful brother, the OPPO R17, with a water-drop notch.

On the rear, there is a dual camera setup with the module placed on the top left side. Furthermore, the handset sports an on-screen fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Meanwhile, the company is ready for an exciting update called the HyperBoost Acceleration Engine, which works similar to Huawei’s GPU Turbo. As it concerns, the differences between the Oppo R17 and the R17 Neo are the processor and memory.

According to what we learned, OPPO R17 Neo specs feature a 6.41-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels. Under the hood, the R17 Neo gets power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and Adreno 512 GPU. Moreover, the core is paired with 4GB of RAM (not 6GB as R17) and the same 128GB of internal storage. Also, there is a hybrid dual SIM slot for memory expansion by up to 256GB. Meanwhile, OPPO R17 Neo camera packs a 16MP (f/1.75) + 2MP (f/2.0) dual rear camera and a 25MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera. Whereas, the device sports a 3600mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge, alongside ColorOS 5.2 UI on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Oppo R17 Neo release date and price

Mocha Red and Astral Blue colour options are the two options available. For now, we can expect all the Oppo R17 variants including the R17 Neo, R17 and the R17 Pro that launch in India soon.
