PS4 GIFs making is now available!

As we all know, aside from gaming, we can also use the PS4 as some sort of computer as well (although it would be quite awkward using the controller as the mouse). Now, there is another newly updated application that allows you to make GIFs as well. Sony has recently updated its ShareFactory PS4 app, and now users can make GIFs from gaming clips captured on the system. The made GIFs then can be Tweeted to your friends (or the whole world). Let’s take a look at how it works!

Firstly, make sure that you have the ShareFactory PS4 application, and it is updated to the latest version as well. Then, you can jump right into PS4 GIFs making action! In the main UI, choose the “GIFS” option. You can make GIFs out of clips or videos saved on your system, or even edited clips on the system as well. Once you pick the video that you want, just pick a starting point. Don’t worry, you can scroll back and forth until you choose the perfect starting point. Then you press “X” to prepare the GIF, and the app will make a nine seconds GIF from the starting point!

You can already use the nine-second GIF, but the app allows you to trim from both ends as well. You can see the GIF looping to know how it looks for each action you make. Once you are satisfied, choose the option to share. You can share to Tweeter right then, or choose “Share later”, and it will be saved to the system. The GIFs you make will be saved in your “Capture Gallery” folder, in the Share Factory sub-folder. Take note, the GIFs are tailored to Tweeting, so the resolution is quite low. Hopefully in the future there will be options to make HD GIFs as well.

With the addition of this new feature, gaming on PS4 has become more interesting. You can now make short GIFs from you recorded game clips or videos, and share (only on Twitter now). It is especially useful for writing reviews of games!
