Samsung Galaxy S9 drop test: against the iPhone X, Galaxy S8 duo!!

After its official announcement, many channels have taken the chance to test the Samsung Galaxy S9 in various durability test! Notably, Square Trade – a company which majors in selling extended warranty – has tried to check just how breakable these new Samsung flagship phones are. And the result? It seems like the Samsung Galaxy S9 is more durable than its predecessor S8. However, after two falls, the Samsung premium handset still suffer some crack.

On the other hand, SQ also performed a bend test on the Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. According to them, the Galaxy S9 is going to bent at 210 lbs of force. Additionally, its bigger brother Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus now bents at 230lbs. The final result? With a breakability score of 71, Samsung Galaxy S9 is a “medium risk”. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus has the score of 76. As a result, this Samsung phone is the “medium-high”.

For comparison, here are a few results of previous handsets’ test. In details, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has the score of 76. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus finished with 78 points. On the contrary, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is at 80, quite a “high risk”. Previously, the Apple iPhone X with many distinctions scored 90 out of 100 on the breakability scale. On the other hand, PhoneBuff also did a drop test on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. They put the Samsung phone through many drops. Surprising, the Samsung phone went through them quite well, though not without significant cosmetic damage.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus release date was March 16th. You can now find them at your local retailers. As for the cost, Samsung Galaxy S9 price is $891 ~ Rs. 57, 909 for the 64GB variant, while the 256GB variant price starts at $1, 014 ~ Rs. 65, 903.
