Samsung Online-Exclusive Smartphones Line For India Launch!

In 2017, India overtook the US to become the world’s second-largest smartphone market, only after the China region. Moreover, many Indian fans are also interested most in the mid-range section. As a result, many smartphone manufacturers are now aiming to jump into this market with their budget-friendly handset. Furthermore, one of the first big brands to join is segment is a Korean representative: Samsung.

Beside their famous flagship line, Samsung is now planning to launch a dedicated line of budget smartphones for online Indian consumers. In details, the new mid-range lineup includes handsets with the price tag within the Rs.15K category. Moreover, Samsung online-exclusive smartphones line will compete against one big Chinese brand, Xiaomi. Additionally, all of the Samsung handsets prices will vary between to Rs. 5000 – Rs. 15000 price bracket.

What is the reason behind Samsung online-exclusive smartphones line? From a recent IDC, Samsung and Xiaomi were the top two smartphones brand in India in Quarter 3 2017. Each manufacturer took up to a 23.5% market share. Furthermore, online channels contributed the most significant sales rate. As a result, Samsung is now aiming to dominate this segment with their new midrange phone line. Moreover, a Samsung Executive has stated that “Samsung wants to extend its lead with Xiaomi. The partnership is possible by expanding e-commerce sales while consolidating its presence in offline channels”. As a result, “Samsung will ensure that the 1.5 lakh brick-and-mortar stores selling its handsets are not neglected. Since Samsung knows it will take time for Xiaomi to build such a vast offline network.”
