Previously, we have reported about a significant threat to all of the smart gadgets users: Meltdown and Spectre Issue. These two harmful programs can access your gadgets and collect all of your important data freely. As a result, there is a high chance that your critical personal information like bank accounts, business data or even private conversation that you have saved on your PC, smartphones or Kindle can fall into the wrong hand.

Since the discovery of both security threat Meltdown and Spectre, many smartphones manufacturers have begun their work on a patch to prevent the negative effect. This February, Sony jumped on the bandwagon with their latest update for the Xperia XZ Premium. Starting this week, many Sony Xperia XZ Premium owners have begun to receive the latest firmware for their handset. The build numbers now move from 47.1.A.12.34 to 47.1.A.12.75.

Notably, the new Sony Xperia XZ Premium update brings February security update that fixes “Meltdown” and “Spectre” CPU vulnerabilities. However, there is no mention of any other changes. Furthermore, the 47.1.A.12.75 version only weighs at 120MB, so expect not much difference from its previous upgrade. On another note, Sony Xperia XZ Premium specs sport a 5.46 inches screen and 3840 x 2160 pixels. Under the hood, this Sony flagship runs on a Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset. Regarding the storage, this Sony phone comes with 64GB, 4GB RAM (expanded to 256GB). As for the photography, Sony Xperia XZ Premium cameras are 19MP (f/2.0, 25mm, 1/2.3″) rear shooter and 13 MP (f/2.0, 22mm, 1/3″, 1.12 µm) front-facing snapper. Finally, the Sony handset packs a 3230mAh battery box.

When will Sony Xperia XZ Premium update arrive globally?
