The new Starbucks’ Crystal Ball Frappuccino

After the success of the Unicorn drink last year, Starbucks coffee chain has finally announced details on its next cold creation: the Crystal Ball Frappuccino. The company introduced this new mystical beverage on March 22. Ever since then, Starbucks customers haven’t hesitated to snap a photo and post it on social media. Apparently, several baristas leaked some pictures of the Crystal Frappucino before the official announcement. But that doesn’t mean the drink isn’t exciting. In fact, its dreamy colours and sparkly rock candy make the release special, regardless of the sneak peak everyone got early in the week.

According to a rep for Starbucks, the drink “starts with a crème-based Frappuccino (no coffee) infuses with peach flavour and turquoise sparkles that create an enchanting marbling effect.” Each glass will top with one of three different candy gems that represent a wild prediction about the customer’s future. To be specific, Blue candy flakes mean you’re destined for adventure. Green flakes (made with apple, pumpkin and spirulina) foretell good luck while Purple gems (made with algae, cherry, purple sweet potato juices) mean magic, wonder and enchantment are heading your way.

The fun part is neither the customer nor the barista will know the colour of the drinks’ gems until they’re sprinkled on the beverage since they’re stored in opaque shakers. Such mysterious right!

The limited quantity of Crystal Ball Frappuccino

In the past year, Starbucks has taken Instagram-worthy drinks to the next level with its colourful, super-sweet and over-the-top creations. Unfortunately, you don’t have too much time this time around. According to Starbucks, the Crystal Ball Frappuccino will only be available for four days, from March 22 to March 26.
