Recently, we have seen the first Android smartphone ever with gigantic 8GB RAM from LeEco Le 2 Pro. However, the question being ask is that: Do we really need 8GB RAM for our Android smartphones?

8GB RAM smartphones: necessary or a waste of money?

Before going deeper into the question, let’s take a look at how your smartphone uses up the RAM. We have searched over the tech forum, then added in our personal experience, then simplified it into this explanation. So this is how Android handles your phone memory: after each activity finished (when you pressed the home button), your phone doesn’t stop the app immediately. Instead, the process is kept under the system (aka cache) until your phone needs to free up more memory to run another app.

Moreover, Android does even categorize each process into 4 different types ((Foreground, Visible, Service, Background, and Empty) ranging from most to least important. And depending on the level of importance, each process is killed off at different level of free memory. That being said, the more free RAM your smartphone has left, the faster the machine runs, and the better multitasking you can perform. However, which app is put as more priority, which cache to be deleted first really varies from companies to companies. That explains why 2 phones with the same RAM capacity don’t necessarily perform as smooth as the other.

Currently in our mobile market, smartphones with 4GB RAM are considered the most popular. This is because they are strong enough to run powerfully, yet will not cost you a fortune to buy one. However, having a 6GB RAM or 8GB RAM smartphone does you no harm, besides a heavier price tag, and a bit more of battery consumed to run

LeEco 8GB smartphone: a Monter is coming soon!

The recent reports show that LeEco is preparing for a new smartphone, which is believed to be a premium of LeEco Le Max 2. The new LeEco device is said to sport a massive 8GB RAM under the hood! This new phone would be called Le Max 2 Pro – which is believed to be the upgraded version of a LeEco device from the last ỷear. Though, the leak doesn’t go as far as to say when we should expect this super-specs handset.

According to reliable sources, the LeEco 8GB RAM smartphone is packed by powerful Snapdragon 823 chipset. This is the most powerful specs of LeEco Le Max 2 Pro. As you know, the SnapDragon 823 is also used in Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. Beside 8GB RAM and SND 823 chipset, you have also an impressive 25MP main camera. Other upgraded features include Adreno 530 GPU, X12 LTE baseband, and Cat.12/13 support.
