According to the latest update, Apple is planning to launch a new handset this year dubbed iPhone 9. Notably, this new iPhone should belong in a more affordable price range with watered-down specs, unlike the new iPhone 11 series. Moreover, the report mentions that the US brand is also going to debut the Plus version of this handset. Let’s see what the specs of the new iPhone have!

For the display, the iPhone 9 specs flaunt a 5.5-inch Retina IPS LCD with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels. Talking about the hardware, the iPhone handset gets power from the Apple A13 Bionic chipset, matching the current iPhone 11 lineup. Furthermore, in terms of the operating system, the new iPhone device is coming to work on iOS 14. Under the hood, regarding the storage, the iPhone sports 3GB/ 4GB RAM plus two ROM variants of 64GB/ 128GB.

How about the optics department and battery cell?! In details, the iPhone 9 camera rocks a dual 12MP + 12MP lenses setup on the rear. Besides, it comes with features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, Touch to focus. At the front-facing, the iPhone device carries a single 7MP sensor (f/2.2) for taking selfies and video calls. Concerning the capacity, the iPhone handset houses a 2050mAh juice box. Plus, connectivity features in the smartphone include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Volte, NFC and more.

Why Apple jumped over version 9 and went straight to iPhone X?

Recently, there have been many speculations concerning Apple’s decision to skip iPhone 9 to jump to iPhone X ( which is pronounced as iPhone 10). Since there is no official announcement of Apple about this question, there are some hypothesizes regarding this action. The first guess is that iPhone X, meaning 10, is named to mark the iPhone’s 10th birthday. For this anniversary, Apple released three phone: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X in the same year. This action breaks Apple rules of releasing a new model of iPhone every year.

Another hypothesis is that the use of ‘X’ instead of 10 implying this phone is a special edition phone. iPhone X is probably the most impressive jump of iPhone throughout ten years, since Apple call iPhone X is the smartphone of the future. In this X version, the traditional home button is removed. This means that Apple intends to move to an edge-to-edge screen. Besides, The introduction of Face ID is one of the coolest features of iPhone X. This way of security is at the moment the safest protection for users.

iPhone 9: an innovation or a retro of an old kind of phones

Back to September, Apple has released its two flagships of 2016 which are iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The two smartphones are successors as they are well-received by many users all around the world. Recently, there are more and more alleged information about the iPhone 8 that would be released in 2018. In earlier posts, we already provided you leaked information of iPhone 8. As 2017 is the 10th years anniversary since the first iPhone was put on sale. We can expect that Apple will make its fans surprised and happy with new products.

While the real iPhone 8 is still not showed up yet , foreign media reported that Apple has just received patent for a new smartphone. It is skeptical that the phone can be iPhone 9. Interestingly, it is also said that it would be a flip phone. In addition, according to the patent, the body of this mysterious “iPhone 9” would be made out of nickel-titanium alloy which in turn create a rigid and durable material.

There are a lot of assumptions around the “flip” functionality of the phone.  There is one simple assumption that the phone might look quite similar to that clamshell phone. Another assumption is that the phone can be folded to half size of the original display. According to analyst Sun Changxu, it is high possibility that rather than a clamshell, the phone could mount a flexible display with OLED panel.
