Tech fails in 2017: Apple iPhone X’s Face ID, Essential Phone and iPhone 8

This year is considered not a good fruitful year for Apple. Firstly, the FaceID expected to be a revolution in the security systems has turned to be an embarrassment. During the unveiling, Apple’s software chief Craig Federighi came onstage to prove how fast and easy is to use the Face ID. Surprisingly, the demo iPhone X’s Face ID didn’t unlock. This is a hint for the unfortunate events of FaceID in the following months. Apple has claimed that users can fool the FaceID is one out of 1 million. However, crafted 3D masks have proved that the Apple claims wrongly.

Secondly, Essential Phone is the next to refer on the list of tech fails in 2017. There have been so many complications from customers of this phone, such as the bad camera quality. Eventually, the manufacturer has to push out several softwares to improve the cameras. Besides, the company has also accidentally distributed the private information of 70 customers. As a result, after a few months launched, the Essential Phone receives a major price cut.

Essential Phone review

The last we want to mention is Apple iPhone 8 and its variant Apple iPhone 8 Plus. We guess that both of these flagships might gain a huge success if Apple iPhone X does not come. To be specific, the demand for these phone decreases significantly after the iPhone X goes on sale. The reason is that in these 2 flagships, Apple does not upgrade much in comparison with the X generation. To summarize, the fails of iPhone 8 and the Plus variant is due to the wrong marketing strategy of Apple.

Over several years, smartphone manufacturers continuously improve their phone with some innovative advancements. However, every phone has their weaknesses. However, for the back of the phone, most people like the design of iPhone 7 Jet Black. When it comes to the screen, this phone should come with a 4K resolution of Sony Xperia XZ Premium.

Regarding the security system, the faceID on iPhone X is the most secure system at the moment. There are some suggestions for the sweat security, but this system might take a long time to arrive. Moreover, as for the photography, iPhone X is voted for the best camera phone with dual: 12 MP (f/1.8, 28mm) + 12 MP (f/2.4, 52mm), OIS, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, quad-LED dual-tone flash for the rear cams and 7 MP (f/2.2, 32mm), 1080p@30fps, 720p@240fps, face detection, HDR for the front-facing camera.

Sony Xperia XZ Premium

This phone should feature the water-resistant capability of Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy S8 under 1,5m in the water in 30 minutes. For the powerful performance, this phone might include 8GB RAM like OnePlus 5T and A11 Bionic chipset like iPhone X. For the battery, the Dash Charge capability of OnePlus 5T is so amazing. Therefore, people might want their phone to come with this feature.

What is the price of this dream device?

For all of these specs, the phone might cost no less than $1000 ~ Rs. 64,435. Here are all the specs that we suggest for a dream phone. What is your opinion? Share with us your idea!

2017: the year for ultra-premium handsets. Any of them worth $1000?

Are these flagships worth $1000?

The first iPhone coming in 2007 cost around $499. After a decade, another generation of iPhone: Apple iPhone 8 costs $699, and Apple iPhone X is around $1000. Other giants like Samsung and Google also launch new flagship devices up to $1000 to mark their highest-end configurations. According to a recent report of GfK, the average sales of smartphone rises around 7%. Although there is a fall in the number of sales in developed market, average sale price increases. Overall, sale value has increased.

Let’s take a closer look that some flagships from the giant company Google. Firstly, we would like to mention Google Pixel 2XL. This flagship comes with some outstanding specs such as SND 835 and smart cameras. However, users might have to face with a poor display panel, which exhibited image retention, possible screen burn-in, and a color shift when viewed at an angle. Costing around $950, do you think this phone is worth your investment?

Google Pixel 2XL

Apple and Samsung cannot escape the blame. For Apple, Apple iPhone X with new security system called FaceID creates a huge attention from phone community. However, the FaceID includes a lot of problems such as a 10-Year-Old Beat Apple’s Face ID on His Mom’s iPhone X or some issues on the new update of IOS. Besides that, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with freezing issues when you open a contacting app really annoys users.

New flagships are coming with great specs, but at what cost?

At the moment, most of the issues have already been fixed by the producers. However, for the price tag around $1000, users should not face these problems. Let’s hope that the upcoming smartphones will be better in the technology as well as face no issues like before.

Sweat is a unique feature of an individual. Therefore, it can be used to access your handset in the same way you use your fingerprint or your face. Scientists have conducted a large number of research into the use of sweat as security for your devices. Recently, a study published in the scientific journal ChemPhysChem reveals that amino acid in sweat is a unique biological signature. This feature allows you to protect your phone to the highest level.

Every method of securing the smartphone has its problem. Firstly, other people can steal or guess your password. Sometimes people find it annoying to type or remember a long password. When it comes to fingerprints, several times, the fingerprint reader goes wrong. For now, the most advanced phone security tech is Apple’s Face ID. The iPhone X features a depth-sensor and an infra-red camera. However, a hacker has claimed to have beaten the security system with a 3D-printed mask.

To build a sweat security profile, the device would first have a ‘monitoring and recording period’ in which it continuously measures its owner’s sweat levels at various times of the day. Other factors, including age, biological sex, race and physiological state, lifestyles of the individual would also play a role in the sweat profile. After the profile is developed, the owner would be identified when holding or wearing the smartphone. Moreover, scientists claim that hackers cannot easily hack and copy the sweat profiles. Therefore, this is a safe way to protect your phone.

When will sweat security be available?

This innovative way of security is the most awaited technology in the smartphone industry. However, to turn this security into reality, it would take a long time, probably a couple of years. Let’s stay tuned and drop a comment to share with us your opinion!
