There will be no Lenovo phones in the future anymore. The company will integrate the Lenovo phone brand into Moto brand. The company will only focus on Moto brands in the near future. 

No more Lenovo phones, just Moto

Previously, we gave you the information that Lenovo phone brand will integrate their smartphone brand into Moto brand. Although the Chinese company hasn’t made any confirmation, now, this news seems to be true. The Lenovo President and CEO unveiled some information about this integration and the smartphone business of the company. According to him, there will be no Lenovo smartphones in the future anymore, but Moto phones.

This year, Lenovo has shipped big phone units- about 14 million phones (both Lenovo and Moto). However, the sales in the Chinses market are not as much as the sales in the other countries. Moto smartphones are even more popular than Lenovo, especially in the US market. That’s could be the reason why Lenovo phone brand decides to remove the Lenovo smartphone brand and only focus on Moto devices.

The integration process will take time. This change will affect the phone business of the company. With this change, Lenovo is expected to be one of the top mobile brands in the global market. Besides smartphones, Lenovo’s main business is still PCs. However, gradually, the company will concentrate more on cloud services.

Lenovo phone brand: a brighter future

Compared to the other Chinese smartphone brands, Lenovo doesn’t bring many products to the market. Hopefully, with this integration, Lenovo will be back to the game. 4. Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus

In the last post, we informed you that Lenovo will launch an event to introduce their two new phones on 8th November. However, we haven’t seen any event yet but we saw the Moto M on an online store TMall in China. And this phone will be launch on 11th November. This new phone shows up with many specs. Let’s have a look at this new Motorola device.

Design-wise, the phone shows up with an all-in-one metal body which is splash resistant. With the hydrophobic protection, you don’t have to worry  about the liquid splash anymore. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 2.2Ghz octa-core Helo P15 processor and runs on Android Marshmallow OS. It packs 4GB RAM paired with 32GB of ROM which can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

For photography, the phone is equipped with an 8MP selfie shooter and a 13MP main shooter with autofocus and LED flash. The other Moto M specs are a 3050mAh battery and a 5.5-inch screen with the resolution of 1080 x 1920px. In addition, this new Motorola handset will also support a fingerprint sensor.

Moto M: price and release date

With all those specs above, this device is aimed at the mid-range segment. It will be the tough rival in the 4GB RAM segment. Moto M is now available only in the Chinese market. Moto M price is quoted about $295. We don’t know for sure whether the company will bring this phone to the other markets or not. Since the Moto Z  series which is available in many markets has brought many successes to the company, there’s a high chance that this handset will be launch globally.

Zuk Edge: 4GB RAM, SND 821

Before the disclosure of Zuk Edge, the Zuk Z1 is the latest handset of this brand. It used to reach 400,000 units sold out within a few minutes. Recently on TEENA, there is a new smartphone coming from this brand called Zuk Edge. Based on its name, we somehow guess that the phone will feature curves on two sides. It is likely to come with a 5.5 inch display with 1080 resolution. Under the hood, the phone will pack a 4GB RAM, along with two variants in terms of internal storage: 32GB or 64GB. It seems that the inbuilt storage can’t be expendable.

Regarding other specs, the Zuk Edge runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 powered by Snapdragon 821 with the faster 2.35GHz versions. About the camera, the main camera is expected to sport a 13 MP. It is also integrated with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The greatest thing with the back camera is that it can shoot 4K video. With the selfie lover, the phone will come with an 8MP snapper. That resolution might not be as decent as other smartphones, but it is not too bad, right?

According to the information on TEENA, the smartphone will be 7.68mm thick. Compared to the precessor, the Zuk Edge feature a smaller battery capaccity. It might take power from the source of a non-removable 3,00omAh battery. The phone is also reported to have fingerprint sensor and feature Type-C reversible connector.

Zuk Edge: launch date and price

Until now, there’s no information about the smartphone from the company. However, it is expected to launch in China first at the end of the year. Redmi 4A is backed up with a 3120mAh battery while the capacity in Moto G4 is 3000mAh.

Lenovo Phab2 Plus: price and release date

“Why go regular why you can go Phab?”, that’s what Lenovo India posted on Twitter. With an octa-core processor and dual 13MP main camera, Phab2 Plus will be the tough rival in this market. Lenovo Phab2 Plus launch date is on 8th November and it will be exclusive in Amazon. There’s no price information of it. However, when launched in the US, Lenovo Phab2 Plus price is about $299. Hopefully, there won’t be big price discrepancy in India.

Lenovo: current situation

According to the company’s financial results, they shipped 14 million phones in the quarter, resulting in a 25% increase sales from the first one. Specifically, the sales from smartphones contributed to $2 billion, which rose 20% compared with the first quarter. There are some goods smartphones in this year including Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro, Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and so on. Such impressive appearances and decent specs make the brand more popular in the smartphone market.

The Motorola shipment also contributed to this noticeable rise. They are reported to increase the shipment up to 40%. Since the Motorola G4 and Motorola Moto Z started shipping, the sales figures rose remarkably. It seems that Motorola seems to become a formidable opponent against Apple in terms of market shares. Specifically, with those high-end devices, Motorola controls 52.5% market shares, while Apple 39.4%.

Recently, it is reported that Lenovo will change their name to Moto brand. This means there will be just Moto smartphones in the future. On the 8th November event, the company will launch their two new Lenovo P2 and Moto M. This P2 might be the last phone will come with the Lenovo brand name. However, there’s still no official information from them towards this piece of news. Before any confirmation, we should keep an open mind!

Lenovo: future plan

Since the debut, the Moto Z series were sold over 1 million units. And the corporation is trying to push sales to reach 3 million in the first 12 months. About the Moto Z, they plans to expand the Moto Mod range of magnetic add-ons.
